The Deluge

Have you ever noticed that every dinosaur and mammoth fossil is either dug out water-laid sedimentary rock? Shale, (hardened floodwater mud) sandstone, (hardened floodwater sand) or frozen permafrost?

If you had the slightest understanding of the fossilization process you might understand why this is so as well as why it is not evidence for a global flood. Have you ever noticed that most of the depositions in which fossils are found are associated with ancient rivers and flood plains or ancient seas? Have you ever noticed that there are a huge number of distinct sedimentary deposits with fossils of types specific to certain times and locations? If there had been a global flood covering all the land of the Earth we would see a single layer of deposition with the most inclusive mish-mash of fossils and artifacts you can imagine. But we don't see that. That is the point that you continue to ignore.

You've already admitted your ignorance of science, yet you keep attempting to make scientific arguments. Maybe you should actually read some scientific texts on fossilization.

Moved the derail to AAH.

I was going to say 'keep it civil' but that appears to be unnecessary now.

Um, the thermosphere is practically a vacuum. Not a great place to store a bunch of water.
.
Having the entire surface of the earth covered by a miles thick white sheet would do wonders for the amount of sunlight that could penetrate that, reducing to what, none?
Light can't get thru 1000 feet of water.
Miles of water?
It is to sneer!
And what holds that water in whatever form up there?
Atmospheric pressure.
A billion cubic miles of water held up by 1000s of pounds per square inch of pressure.
And with that pressure comes 1000s of degrees of heat.
Shurely that makes sense... NOT!

Plate Tectonics, no so-called god needed.

Walter Brown, another spirit guide David will know explains that.
It's the "Continental Zip Theory", where all the continents zoom to their current locations right after the Flood.
The original continent Pangaea was on a 5 mile thick layer of rock, below which was a 1 mile thick layer of superheated water. Then the actual core of the earth.
This water split Pangaea, flashed into steam, and filled the atmosphere with dust rocks.
When all the water had escaped, the continents then stopped where they are now. The stopping action created the buckling that created the mountain ranges. Then the steam condensed, and the 40 days etc of rain...
See how it all fits together?
Like the two arms of the strait jacket.

There isn't now, but what do you think would have caused Moses to write that there was and then thousands of years later Peter to write that it was gone now because of the global deluge? What sort of primitive curiosity or superstition would have inspired it? What do the other myth legends or other legends, traditions and histories have to say that sort of thing?
.
Moses, being a fictional character in a novel of sadism, wrote nothing.

And instantly killed Noah and his family and all the animals.

Funny how they gloss over that point.

The creation of fossils is a rare occurrence for bones.
If it were common we would be knee deep in fossil bones and the percentage for that so far is very low.
The picture is the layer that we are looking at, the only one near the top of the column that shows sudden extinction, from that layer is mans fossils and also from the next one down before that there weren't no men/woman.

The evidence is all the sand on the top layers of the geological column, just because men wrote it was global doesn't mean it was.

The sand on top of the black mat couldn't possibly have been put there in 12,000 years.
Not with out some kind of great amount of water action.
Because it is everywhere even though it varies in depth/thickness.

Have you ever seen the ocean during a storm, pretty cloudy isn't it?
That's the sand being stirred up. It takes several days to settle and to clear again.

It's the only marker there is, it had to be the event described, global or not is irrelevant.

I think Noah was given all he needed aboard the ark to keep busy but not to be overwhelmed.

It was a cooperation of God and Noah and his family.

What God did during all this is unknown, for now, as far as all the kinds that survived?

If certain bacteria and parasites were eliminated then we would be knee deep in carcasses that couldn’t fossilize and turn into the earthly constituents needed to replenish the Earth.

To say they the righteous had clap and such is absolutely ridicules.
Those diseases are caused by future generations falling away and returning to sin.

The trees that are the oldest date back to about this time too, 8,000 to 12,000.
Below New Mexico, California, Colorado.

Sand, mat, sand, mat.
All within 40,000 years or so, two extictions covred by loose sand.....

Freeway 14 cuts through the San Andreas Fault just a short walk from me.
The visible strata are in every possible orientation, including folded over itself entirely.
Dated to 2.5 million years back.
Layers of sandstone, which were washed down from the mountains to the south.

The straight line in the second photo is an access road installed when the freeway cut was made.
At the left end, it was possible to see an "eye" in the strata, where it had folded over and enclosed a separate layer.
This has been covered recently by dirt getting shaken loose and piling up in front of it.

Could you briefly explain how sin causes various diseases to spring into existence?

If certain bacteria and parasites were eliminated then we would be knee deep in carcasses that couldn’t fossilize and turn into the earthly constituents needed to replenish the Earth.

Nope; the bacteria that'd be eliminated during the flood are not the ones that are involved in decomposition.
Think of it as environment niche. At the scale of the bacteria, feeding on a carcass or feeding on a human body are very different environment with different sets of genes involved. Wiping out one of these environments would not interfere with bacteria leaving in the other, the same way that the desertification of of tropical Africa does not affect the polar bears...

Then, why are human fossils (pre-flood in your reasoning) often found with signs of diseases (the same diseases found today to boot)? That includes tuberculosis as well as the STD Trepanoma palidum.

Not to mention that fossilization does not require decomposition of soft tissues. The Burgess Shale deposits are an excellent example of soft tissue preservation.

Edge likes to make things up, like a child playing at being a doctor.

Good point.
In fact; fossilization requires for decomposition to be incomplete...

What’s funny is that Christians don’t realize the flood story totally invalidates the basic concepts of Christianity.
WWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!
Hear me out!
Either
God knew for many generations ahead of time who would be saved and tells this to Noah, thus proving that free will is a lie.
Or the story of Noah being told by God that his family would be the only ones saved is wrong, if there was an attempt to save others (Noah evangelizing) and the Bible is wrong and/or God told a lie.
