The Biblical Realities of Hell

are you being deliberately obtuse?
i aske you a question about the writings of paul.
are you not going to answer it?
why do christians place as much importance on paul as on jesus.
it almost like it is paulianity rather than christianity.

I thought I did right here at that link did you miss this?

That’s why I’m not Catholic, they took it somewhere else that’s beyond the teaching of Jesus, and so I can’t follow them, I take their teachings with a grain of salt.

The said teachings of a said Jesus.

Paul

:) :) :)
The said babblings from a said Pauloff.

I practice his teachings and they work quit well for others and myself that's the report for today.
The main one in today’s world is don't worry, God takes care of everything we can't.

To practice that is to have faith, one of many ways.
To have total confidence is everything.

I have faith that Paulhoff is real.

No wait, I don't need faith, I have evidence right here.

It always amuses me when people use "faith" like it is a good thing. Blind belief without any need for evidence is never a good thing.

Yes, and that's why America's right-wing think it's their god-given right to burn through the world's oil at an alarming pace. Never mind, god will kill more dinosaurs???

To practice that is to have faith, one of many ways.
To have total confidence is everything.

Even when confidence is not warranted. For example, you and your argument.

Faith is dumb. Stop pretending it isnt.

You did this for your self, not me.
It's irrelevant for Christians.

If you operate your life on the principle that an external reality exists, you can't say, "It's fictional to you, but not to me."

Unless you are a complete solipsist, real=real and fictional=fictional. It doesn't matter whether you or I or anyone else believes something is real or not, it either is or it isn't. I have known people who believed Sherlock Holmes was a historical personage*. That doesn't mean he was. It also doesn't mean Sherlock Holmes is sometimes real and sometimes not.

*I understand that Conan Doyle based the fictional Sherlock Holmes character on a real professor of his from medical school. Nonetheless, the professor was real and Sherlock Holmes is fictional.

In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn't know they were doing anything wrong.

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

The main one in today’s world is don't worry, God takes care of everything we can't.

Sure he does when one is sick, it is called death. You should go to a third world country sometime edge and get back to me when you see all the death there that your so-called god doesn't give a damn about.

Which specific teachings do you practice? You seem to have a real soft spot for the ten commandments, even though they come from the OT. Do you keep the sabbath and refrain from coveting? I'm sure you're also sure to only have god-approved sexual relations, within a covenental marriage contract. ;)
The main one in today’s world is don't worry, God takes care of everything we can't.
That's simply not true. If I injure myself and can't get around, there's no god to pay my medical bills (not actually a worry for me, but the Americans know what I mean), and there's no god to fetch things for me off the high shelves. There's no god to make sure that I still have a job if I need to take a medical leave. Amongst my friends within the last two years, one lost a five-month old son, one lost a two-year old son, and another had a 50/50 chance of losing her nine-month old daughter, but after over 6 months of very invasive medical treatments for infant brain cancers, the five tumors appear to be gone. Can you tell me how god took care of any of those things?

When you say god will take care of things we can't, I'm guessing you're talking about some sort of cosmic justice in the after-life. The bad guys will go to hell (or be annihilated) and the good guys will get to kiss his butt in heaven for all eternity. But everyone will have to answer for all their wrong-doings after there dead. God will really show them then!! That's simply not true either.

Don't worry, be happy and god will take care of everything.

Maybe the so-called god enjoys watching it.

It says servant?
Where does it say slave?
Don't go back to the O.T....

The first sentence applies to Christians who know God.
The second applies to Indians tribes that live in the Amazon all those who died not knowing the Christian version of God ect...
People who practice other docile religions who don't know any better.

The last sentence implies that everything we have is given by the creator and if you are given much then much is expected, if you are so well off that you are considered wealthy then much more is expected.
In other words you better help those of less fortunate circumstances.
Like those, in third world countries, or people who need work if you can create work for them.

We are all servants… and Jesus also applied this when he, Jesus did the customary washing of the disciples’ feet.
He was to serve mankind first; the last shall be first and the first last there fore the lesson of equality.
Among men and God and the lesser fortunate.

You're talking about mans greed the people who back politicians.
Right wing, left wing, we are all in control of the rich who don’t want change because the oil hasn't run out. Their not done making their money, you think they want it to end?
We don't need oil for fuel and we could do it all from electric.
So what's your point?
Faith is dumb, that’s your opinion.
I could say lack of faith is dumb because from my perspective it is.

How did God take care of those things?
You can ask him later.
If everything is true then they aren't dead they are with God.
No one will ever know completely the mind of God and why things are the way they are in this matter universe.
We are all destined to die sooner or later.
We can improve our medicines, techniques for curing and that wisdom is there and has always been there but we haven't discovered it all.

Hell is not being there in the light but being in darkness with all the others.
