The All Purpose Hillary Clinton Thread

Mere details.

He's the one columnist in America who gives Trump a "win" in the first debate. Even Trump says he stunk it up.

He writes a lot on sports and Chicago homestyle human interest topics but his occasional forays into political commentary are rather conservative.

It should take hours not weeks to provide an initial analysis of the latest set of (650k) emails. Classified information should be appropriately marked in the heading (yes I know there were a handful that weren't in the initial cache but that was a tiny proportion and the fault of the sender not the receiver) and it would be programmatically trivial to check the headings for such a marker allowing a very quick update of either: there are no emails classified as secure; or there are some emails classified as secure and we are focussing our attention on those.

It would also be relatively straightforward to check in the body of the mails for such a marker (I believe the handful mentioned above had a '(c)' in parts of the text), reducing the focus for the second sweep.

Manual checking could then be focussed on those (if any) identified by the two automated sweeps outlined above.

This is not rocket science.

It should also be easy to compare them against already reviewed materials by the header information alone to determine if there is anything new that is related to Clinton. That would narrow the search down quite quickly.

Fairly basic stuff for any electronic discovery expert. I suppose the FBI would be even better equipped.

Not a good assumption to make. While we have to hope that things have improved, but in 2001, the FBI were still using 286's because the then Director hated computers and even refused to have one himself.

GOP Senator Burr quips about gun owners shooting Clinton.
Sen. Richard Burr privately mused over the weekend that gun owners may want to put a "bullseye" on Hillary Clinton, according to audio obtained by CNN.

The North Carolina Republican, locked in a tight race for reelection, quipped that as he walked into a gun shop "nothing made me feel better" than seeing a magazine about rifles "with a picture of Hillary Clinton on the front of it."

I think they take cyber a bit more seriously now.

ETA: One issue they may have is that Clinton's disclosures were in hard form, but that should have been scanned and OCRed months ago, and then compared with the backup they got from her back up firm. So, it should all be clean enough and the new stuff is coming in clean. They should have a big picture of what they have within 48 hours of getting the warrant.

Trump 46, Clinton 45, as Democratic enthusiasm dips

The latest Washington Post-ABC News Tracking Poll, which finds Clinton backers slipping behind in enthusiasm.

The tracking poll finds little shift in Clinton's overall support following news of the FBI's renewed look at Clinton emails, but strong enthusiasm among her supporters fell behind Trump in combined Saturday and Sunday interviews. By 53 to 43 percent, more Trump supporters say they are "very enthusiastic" about him, compared with Thursday and Friday when Trump's edge was negligible (53 percent vs. 51 percent).

In other news, Crooked Hillary was spotted shopping for drapes to adorn her new home -- Bryan Federal Prison Camp, Texas.

I kind of feel sorry for her future cellmates. Prison itself would be agonizing enough, but having Nurse Ratched as a cellmate clearly spills over into cruel and unusual punishment.

FBI Sources Believe Clinton Foundation Case Moving Towards "Likely an Indictment"

Sources within the FBI have told him [Bret Baier] that an indictment is "likely" in the case of pay-for-play at the Clinton Foundation, "barring some obstruction in some way" from the Justice Department.

FBI sources say with 99% accuracy that Hillary Clinton's server has been hacked by at least five foreign intelligence agencies, and that information had been taken from it.

Well, the word "indictment" has become a common phrase in the news lately. I owe Anthony Weiner a debt of gratitude, thanks to him I'm getting very close to a financial windfall -- previous bet still pending. Thank you Weiner, I compliment your ineptitude.

I would think so too. But whatever is on Weiner's computer is in digital form, so wouldn't it still be relatively easy to check for new material? I have gone easy on James Comey compared to a lot of people here. If he really is a man of integrity, IMO he has a duty to expedite this review, throw a lot of human and technical effort into and make a preliminary report to Congress which of course means it will be released to the public. If there was no ethical issue last week then there shouldn't be one this week. Of course this includes the risk of in fact turning up something suggesting illegal activity by Clinton, perhaps material that she didn't disclose earlier. Fair enough. If his office can say the review yielded no new revelations about Clinton I think he has a duty to do that.

Anyway, we're past 48 hours, and I'm not sure this sort of quick turnaround is actually feasible. I still don't get why Clinton has faced such a backlash from errors in judgment or technical naivety that Huma may have made. Though ultimately it can be laid at Clinton's feet anyway due to her poor judgment to begin with. If she has learned her lesson she remains a significantly better choice than Trump.

Anthony Weiner has checked into a SEX ADDICTION treatment center

Anthony Weiner, the husband of Hillary Clinton's closest aide Huma Abedin, has checked into a rehab facility for treatment of sex addition.

Out-of-control Weiner, who has been sending sexually-charged messages and obscene pictures to women and at least one teenage girl for years, is now in a treatment facility, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

Back in 2010, Bill Clinton officiated at Weiner's wedding.

The only question I have is who was the best man -- Bill Cosby?

A Politico reporter reviewed the entire lengthy FBI report on the Clinton emails and provides a detailed summary. What is startling is that much of what happened is the result of Clinton's inability to use a desktop computer, and her refusal to learn, even when officials tried to install one in her office. Documents needed to be printed out for her -- which to me means she was pretty much dependent on whatever her staff felt like giving her. That might explain why she seemed so clueless sometimes in her public statements; she really didn't understand what her critics were saying. She couldn't sit down and surf news and commentary sites for herself, for example, or access multiple email accounts through one device. Is inability to use a computer a serious flaw in a senior government executive?

FBI finds emails related to Hillary Clinton's State Department tenure

The FBI has found emails related to Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state on the laptop belonging to the estranged husband of Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner, according to a U.S. official.

These emails, CBS News’ Andres Triay reports, are not duplicates of emails found on Secretary Clinton’s private server.

Abedin reportedly said she had no knowledge of the existence of any of her emails on Weiner’s laptop.

This is in the same vein as "I made a mistake". Which I do not buy.

Hillary is recognized as a very intelligent and savvy lawyer and politician. Clueless is the last thing she is. She ascribes she lack of recall to her bump on the head. What a selective bump that was.

Yeah, the media is out to distort and lie about Trump by reporting what he actual says and advocates........

Have you ever made a mistake or done anything embarrassing? Sure you have. You are human like the rest of us.

Did Hitler have a nice side. There is plenty of documented evidence that he did.

Would you say that repeating only your "bad" events is "accurate" and "unbiased" reporting. And that reporting only Hitlers good deeds and actions would also be "accurate" and "unbiased" reporting.

No you would not. Do you still maintain that "truth" is the only criteria?

And what about the choice of adjectives, or reporting which presents "opinion" using "facts" which are distortions of those facts?

Fact - Trump boasted that women LET (as in permit) famous and rich men grope them. Which is well documented. Suddenly some women come forward with old memories - and a lot of incentive to do so. Where is the "proof" that the skeptics on this site insist on? Anecdote. Anecdote. Anecdote.

Fact - The FBI say that Hillary said there were no classified emails sent by her but there were. The media accept and repeat the excuses as fact. A mistake. No big deal. Politicians are not perfect, and people know and expect such things from politicians.

Dream on. But if Clinton is elected, your dream may become a nightmare.

Meanwhile China is pulling ahead of the US incredibly fast. And the general population of the US has no idea of how fast it is happening. A vote for Clinton is more of the same, only worse.

The elite rich are getting super rich. They do not want change, which is Trump's base message.
