The All Purpose Hillary Clinton Thread

What's better, building the profile of some new Democratic candidates or trolling republicans (and losing another election)?

Building a new Democratic candidate of course. I'm just noting that it would be funny indeed. Provided she won, of course.

I haven't read any of the links but, if true, I think she could do reasonably well with a TV show with all of her fanatical followers. But running again in 2020 would be a disaster.

Would even her supporters want to watch her as entertainment?

I think it's a bad idea for democrats in general: the higher a profile she keeps, the less room available in the spotlight for new blood. And the easier it is for republicans to keep running against her.

Agreed.

I voted for her but I find her voice grating. Would like her to be in the oval office but not in my living room.

I think she could capitalize on the current Women's March and other anti-Trump "movements". She could have interesting (to that crowd) guests on, and I don't think her voice or disposition would be as annoying as a host as it was when she was trying to rouse a crowd. Think of the big name guests that would likely welcome an opportunity to go on her show and show their support for the cause.

I agree it would be a bad idea for the Democrats, but I'm not so sure it would be a bad idea for Hillary.

That would kill the movement.

Fake News.

There is one direct quote from an anonymous source described as "a Clinton campaign official" and that quote (if real) is as follows:

“The White House was like everyone else: They thought she’d win anyway. ... If he had done more, it might have lessened a lot of aggrieved feelings, although I don’t think it would have altered the outcome. The Russia thing was like a spy novel, and anything he said or did would have helped get people to believe it was real.”

The New Republic is a legitimate, long-established publication.

Considering that the final tallies in three states were so close, almost anything Clinton or Obama might have done dfferently -- certainly campaigning more in the three "blue wall" states -- could have made a difference.

So was every republican. Maybe by 2020 the dems will realize the election has to have entertainment value and the candidate has to be able to work almost like a stand up comic with an audience.

Great. Al Franken for President. Or Jerry Seinfeld.

It doesn't sound unreasonable that she could host a public affairs commentary show, like Nightline when Ted Koppel ran it or Fareed Zakaria on CNN. It wouldn't be talk-entertainment like Jimmy Fallon. I suspect that a problem would be that she doesn't seem to listen well; the show would likely be about her, rather than her guests.

And she has a voice that sounds like 10,000 fingernails being dragged slowly across a blackboard. That might prove a bit problematic.

She'll make a fine liberal president and appoint all the judges I want. She won't start new wars and wont send any more ambassadors out to weird new countries.

True she won't start any new wars, as president anyway
