The All Purpose Hillary Clinton Thread

I hope Trump just moves on. Not because I don't want her to get whatever she may deserve, but because we all need to move on and smooth this out a little.

)

I think, in general, it is a rather bad idea to go after a former political big wig from the "other side" unless there is the most massive smoking gun. One of the most important parts of a functioning democracy is the two parties being willing to hand power back and forth - anything that looks like a partisan witch hunt by the victor would damage that.

Fiat justitia ruat caelum.

A Latin legal phrase, meaning "Let justice be done though the heavens fall."

No mention of Anthony Weiner (aka Carlos Danger) attending the tear-filled pity party -- talk about ungrateful, Weiner should have been the guest of honor.

As Michelle Obama once quipped, "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”

Well Michelle, unlike you I have always been proud of my country -- especially now that you, Lame Duck and Crooked Hillary have been tossed into the dustbin of history; a defeated group of washed-up has-beens.

A little belated reply here, but surely you have not always been proud of your country? We've done terrible things (and also remarkable things). We've enslaved Africans. You can't be proud of that, surely. We've more or less engaged in genocide of the Native Americans. That's a shameful story.

On balance, despite the terrible events, I am proud to be an American. But there's a ******** of bad stuff that makes me cringe. The only antidote is the fact that I didn't personally do that stuff, but that antidote is cold comfort at best, since I also didn't do the stuff of which I am proud.

I almost think her sitting through that inauguration on worldwide TV was enough punishment. But I'm in a good mood today, so I dunno. She had an almost murderous look on her face in some shots...if I were Bill - man things ain't gonna be good back at home.

Imagine the humiliation - watching Trump of all people take the crown. I have to admit I enjoyed watching that, and I almost felt bad for her a few times.

I hope Trump just moves on. Not because I don't want her to get whatever she may deserve, but because we all need to move on and smooth this out a little.

ETA:
I don't think Bill ever lost his 'bachelor days' ;)

Yes, congrats on your obvious good fortune in electing the least qualified man ever to sit in the Oval Office. I can totally see why you're so titillated. What a banner day for the nation, for democracy, indeed for the world!

I reject the notion of inherited guilt. Any atrocities committed by humans in the distant past would have been their cross to bear not mine.

And yes, I have always been proud to call myself an American.

You reject inherited guilt but are fine with inherited pride?

Hillary Clinton Reportedly Mulling TV Show to Prep Third White House Run

Hillary Clinton is now reportedly considering a new television show to help her prepare for another White House run.

“She’s been talking very seriously about the idea of having her own television show,” a close Clinton insider told author Ed Klein, the Daily Mail reported Wednesday. “As a TV host, she’d discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders and progressive thinkers.”

The idea of the show would be to help Clinton stay in the limelight and remain a leader opposing President Donald Trump’s agenda. However, the purpose of the show would be to prepare for a 2020 presidential run, according to Klein’s source.

The Nurse Mildred Ratched show?

Hopefully, the show's announcer and Ratched's sidekick will be Rosie O'Donnell: "Heeeeeeeeere's Mildred!"

With bandleader Madonna.

Oh goody, I can't wait to see it!

I'm curious: Who would you say was the least qualified, before Trump?

trying to compete with Trump in his own medium?
not a smart move...

Running Hillary again seems like the only way the democrats could lose in 2020. "Ask not what you can do for your party, ask what your party can do for you " seems to be Hillary 's motto.

(Without clicking on any links yet) Ah, well, if the New Zealand Herald reports a rumor about a US politician, golly that's believable. Any American sources that didn't **** the bed like Free Bacon did about Clinton being indicted last year? No? Color me shocked.

Eta: well, the only source that might have been American was AOL, but that link came back borked. Gosh, I am so surprised, surprised, surprised!

Eta part II: Oh, this is a rumor from noted Clinton hater Ed Klein.

The story is being reported by many media outlets. If you don't like the ones I listed, then use Google and choose another.

I'm not qualified to talk prior to, say, 1976 or so. I can't think of anyone notably unqualified before Trump. I thought GWB was dreadful, but not so much unqualified.

Clinton can't win, not even in 4 years:
Trump supporters might, at some point, reluctantly agree not to vote for Trump again (making all kinds of excuses), but they won't ever admit that they should have voted for Clinton.

But as a poke-in-the-eye to Hannity&co. such a show might make sense...

It would be hilarious to run Hillary again and win. Could be worth it just for the massive amount of exploded RWNJ heads.

And you'd get a qualified and experienced civil servant for a president to boot, as opposed to an orange blowhard.

What's better, building the profile of some new Democratic candidates or trolling republicans (and losing another election)?
