My wife just raised an interesting point…. Can the woman start demanding child support on detection of that “heartbeat”?
No, but she can get a concealed carry license for it.

What I think Biden could do to fight the Texas Ban is to open Military Hospitals to women seeking abortions according to the Roe v. Wade rules, everywhere in the US.
Of course, a Republican President would undo this again.
The Hyde amendment prevents any federal funds from being used for abortion.

No.
The answer is always no.
Everyone stop it with all this "Well if we applied the law logically wouldn't X also be true" stuff.
The Right has no intention of applying this law logically and nobody can make them.
My plan to show up at the next session of the Texas Legislature and throw rocks at anyone wearing mixed fibers would work except these are idiots with no shame who will neither "get it" nor care if they did.
I say if push comes to shove, pro-choice activists need to sue every state county, and local government entity that "supported" an abortion that they can and flood the Texas courts with as many lawsuits as they can. Mire the entire system and grind it to a halt.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/08/politics/greg-abbott-rape-abortion/index.html"Let's make something very clear: Rape is a crime," Abbott said. "And Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets."
Here's New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) on that exact point in an interview with CNN on Tuesday night:
"I'm sorry we have to break down Biology 101 on national television, but in case no one has informed him before in his life, six weeks pregnant means two weeks late for your period. And two weeks late on your period for any person -- any person with a menstrual cycle -- can happen if you're stressed, if your diet changes or for really no reason at all. So you don't have six weeks."
Gov. Abbott claims that Texas will respond to concerns about the lack of exemption for rape or incest by simply ending rape in Texas.

He also insists that women will have six weeks to decide whether to seek an abortion.
I don't have any trouble accepting that some people are truly evil, but I always have a hard time grasping that high public officials can really be this dumb.
Tell you what we'll use a compromise the Right can appreciate.
Fetuses are 3/5th of a person.
Greg Abbott just said that TX "will work tirelessly to eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas" when asked why there was no exception for rape in the new law. What the hell?
"Sorry, lady. You got roofie raped by some stranger at a party you can't identify because you didn't even know you'd been raped and are now pregnant but there's a 'heartbeat' from these few cells growing in you, so tough ****. But, don't worry, we'll find the guy and eliminate him!"
Trouble is, most rapes go unreported.
I suggest some NO DOZ then, Greg. Get to work "tirelessly" to get those rape test kits off the shelves first.
Or.... People don't want to sit back while babies are being killed.
Your argument is invalid, as related to my stance. I don't have any problem with pre-conception birth control. In fact, I encourage it. I have a problem with abortion as a means of birth control.
