I just found out, through Facebook, that I know O'Donnell's sister. I posted an article on Slate that was critical of her views on masturbation and her sister responded by claiming that the media is making it up and manipulating the situation. Making what up? It seems she was a pretty vocal opponent of masturbation in the early 90's in typical creationist fashion.

Leaving aside the smear attempt here on O'Donnell, what do you make of the science on stem cells on which she was commenting? (on which I posted a couple links)

We've also grown brain networks in vitro and used the to control simulated fighter aircraft.

Comment: I think this area of work is rather interesting, and don't share O'Donnell's concerns over it. But there are ethical concerns with it, as noted by the presence of numerous papers on the ethics of it. Surely they can't be ridiculed.
