Teabagger Whacktard Christine O’Donnell Warns Against Mice With Human Brains!

I just found out, through Facebook, that I know O'Donnell's sister. I posted an article on Slate that was critical of her views on masturbation and her sister responded by claiming that the media is making it up and manipulating the situation. If anyone wants to chime in, send me a friend request on Facebook.
Making what up? It seems she was a pretty vocal opponent of masturbation in the early 90's in typical creationist fashion.

Christine O'Donnell's 90's MTV Anti-Masturbation Campaign:

Masturbation is a sin!!

She should take the sin-free masturbation challenge. Get off without thinking about anyone or anything...quite easy. Or just masturbate to Jesus.

IF I were a Democrat, I would want every voter in Deleware to see this. The finer points of Evolution might be hard for many voters to grasp, but sheer nuttiness like this is different.......

We are having a hard enough time creating humans with human brains.

I wonder if she imagines a tiny human brain or mice with giant pulsing brains like those aliens in the original star trek show?

Isn't there some sort of golden ratio for body to brain size and also to brain size and capability?

Leaving aside the smear attempt here on O'Donnell, what do you make of the science on stem cells on which she was commenting? (on which I posted a couple links)

We've also grown brain networks in vitro and used the to control simulated fighter aircraft.

Comment: I think this area of work is rather interesting, and don't share O'Donnell's concerns over it. But there are ethical concerns with it, as noted by the presence of numerous papers on the ethics of it. Surely they can't be ridiculed.

Side note: Mice with human brains would watch what type pron, exactly?;)

There's no smear. This is what she said:

American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains

Nothing you or Bill O'Reilly say can make this anything other than utterly laughable nonsense.

Well, go back to the transcript. You'll find that immediately after she said that, the other guy on the show...I think his name was Morrison, one of the scientific researchers...simply said...

"That's an exaggeration".

Which is correct.

Oh, I see. The fact that the guy didn't snort coffee out his nose and die laughing proves that what she said wasn't so stupid.

You're kidding right?
