TAM7 Poker Tourney

Another bump. I'm trying to figure out when I can volunteer on Thursday, and so far I'm committed to lunch, and bowling, so depending on when poker is, I might be out of luck on volunteering....for Thursday, anyways.

I am taking out a 2nd mortgage on my house to finance my buy-in. I should have enough if its not much more than $100.

That's a great question - Mr. Ottle, what is the buy-in?

Okay, I finally got it worked out. This is the best I can do, so I hope it works for everyone:

WHEN: Thursday, July 9, 6pm (can move it back to 5pm if that fits better)

BUY-IN: $50

WHERE: South Point Poker Room

It'll pay the top 3, assuming we get enough for three tables.

What do you think?

I think I'm going to need to bow out, unless you will accept my wedding ring and the deed to the ranch as collateral.

Ack. I was looking at this schedule, and it said 5-6. Is this a completely different reception?

Looks like the same thing to me - We should probably ask someone official.

Although a 2-hour break between the reception at 5-6 and the show at 8 seems unlikely to me....

ETA: Just PMed Jeff Wagg, hopefully he can let us know.

Okay, cool. I told Joe the Poker Table Guy I would call him back on Monday to finalize everything. He's going to California to whack a guy on business for the rest of the week.

The casino takes a cut of $15 per head. I figure we each throw in $50, that puts $35 each into the pot. Then the winners keep half and the other half goes to the JREF. That's pretty much what we ended up doing last year, although we were pokering by the seat of our pants a bit, since it was my first time organizing something like that.

5 or 6 should let me finish in time to run the bowling at 9PM So I'm in.
At the risk of incurring a Rule 11 infraction and the inevitable protest thread follow-up is the bowling outing scheduled? If so, I done missed it...

Great, Mr. Ottle - I'm in. I think 5 or 5:30pm would be better so we have enough time to get food/drinkies at the 7pm reception, then of course bowling at 9! $50 buy in is very reasonable - woot!
