Well, I've never played poker, but I know the principles involved. And I think I'm in on the bowling already, but hey, it'll be my first trip to Vegas so yeah, why not?

Well my wife and I just received a $500 Travelcentre voucher for Christmas, which goes well with our frequent flier points. I have just flagged the possibility of a trip to LA, and got a favorable response. Now all I have to do is build in the side trip to Las Vegas.........

Well, between this thread and some offline correspondence, I count thrirteen ppl so far (although I'll have to bump it back down to 12 if Hokulele doesn't remove that Crimson Tide avatar abomination :eye-poppi)

There's still plenty of time to recruit, so I think I'll talk to the casino with the expectation of three tables and see what we can get.
 
Naive question: what form of poker will this be?

I've been playing the Texas Hold 'Em app on my iPhone and I suck. ;)
 
I've only ever played Texas Hold'em on Facebook, but I've watched a few episodes of Celebrity Poker on ESPN, and I think I can hold my own for at least a little while. So long as the stakes aren't gigantic - my budget will not extend all that far.
 
Not very experienced so expect to be easy money. This should be fun anyway.

At what day is this going to be played?

I'm in for Hold 'Em if it doesn't interfere with Bowling (Thursday night, 9-11pm). What time would the tourny start and what is the buy-in?
 
Sorry all, I haven't had the time to move on this. I'll get in touch with the casino this week and see what we can work out.

Chances are it'll be Thursday, but earlier than bowling.
 
It's probable that I won't be able to play, then. :( I'm coming in from Arizona and I'm not sure what time I'll arrive in Vegas.

Aw, heck, I'll play regardless. Though Texas Hold 'Em is the only variant I know.
