That would be me. I have been assuming that there will be no forum grants this year, since the forum is no longer associated with the JREF. I'd be happy to be disabused of this notion.

Meanwhile, I believe the JREF has some grant money for TAM. I would talk to the appropriate person there.

I'm in!
Last year was my first year and the speakers were great! I hardly met anyone on account of bringing my 6yo daughter (single mom, no nanny) and not being the type to just walk up to people. This year I am ready to dive into the social scene!!

Driving in on the 15th if anyone needs a ride from OC.
I may need to leave early as my daughter is going to Camp Quest West on the 19th.

lol. I just read that thread! Total train wreck. But I plan to pre-meet online and know some faces before I even go. Last year was a bit last-minute.

Want to be my first victim? uh I mean, pre-meet-friend? :)

Keeping the TAM streak (est. 2003) alive

Skyhar8000, aka Stephen Bauer, flying in and out, arriving July 15, leaving early July 20. On board already to assist as a volunteer. Looking for roommates as usual: see my thread on that if you're interested.

You can click the link at the top of each column to sort it by each. This is handy for finding airport ride-shares if you sort by the travel date.
 
Will there be a TAM grant this year? I would love to go but in the past the grant was my only way to afford it.
 
I was not sure there would be interest in donating to a TAM forum grant fund, now that the forum is not associated with the JREF. What do people think?

Same here.

And while I might be wrong, it looks like the five meals that were included in the registration are not going to happen, based on looking at this years schedule. That was a big help too. I do also get some help from people at the SFN site for plane fare, food and hotel costs. I guess I'll have to wait to see what the cost of registration is, and hope I get a lot of work to help cover that and the extra food costs (if any). My best guess is I will not make it to this TAM.

Well, we don't yet know what registration is going to cost this year or exactly what it will include. Last year, the buffet lunches that had previously been included at the most basic registration level were optional, allowing people to attend TAM and skip the meals in favor of cheaper options if they chose to, thus reducing their overall costs--maybe they will try something similar this year.

I don't know about the grants, though. But with the JREF ditching the forum, I'm afraid it might not be good news. :(

I just looked at the registration form. I didn't see anything about an early bird discount, only a box in which one can enter the student or JREF member code.

Am I overlooking it?

Not sure I will go, but thinking about it....
