Now, normally I would like a margarita or 4 at Miguels...but then how am I supposed to get to the Tiki Room afterwards? It is like 6 miles or so away, so not pub crawl-able.

Taxis are easy to get. Go out the front door of the hotel and tell the guy there where you want to go, and he'll set you up. Ask others if they want to come along and split the fare.

I am from L.A. and am not familiar with this term "taxi". But I am sure others will want to share a ride in one to get to the tiki bar.

I will be traveling with a teenager (crazy, I know) so the Satiristas event on Friday night is not on my to-do list. That is OK; I saw it last year and although it was hilarious I don't need to see it again.

We will probably hit the bowling alley or movie theater Friday night. If there is any interest then I would welcome other folks to join us.
 
There should be some sort of event for first-timers who are there alone, and how don't like being at a bar.

And who don't like eating in restaurants, or wearing buttons, or talking to people.

Someone should start a Facebook event for that!

Unless I hear spectacular things about Satiristas, I will probably not go either (I mean that's money I could be spending on shuttles!); so, you can put me down as tentative.

Also, I'd bet whatever the Satiristas have to say, your teenager has probably heard (or said) much worse. (Just saying!) :D

I'm tentatively interested in bowling, though I'm not sure yet what I'll be doing on Friday. In previous years, I've gone to all the extra official events, but staying awake during evening performances, however good and enjoyable they are, is a struggle. Something more active might be a better use of time and money, as well as being a way to meet more people. :)

Again, I'm trying to mirror all this under unofficial events in the TAM2012 event page at Lanyrd. You can get that on your smartphone, in your calendar and so on for easy on-the-go reference.
