Hey Trust, cast your mind back a few years when America was fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't CE saying that Al-Qaeda are a myth created by the global corporate disproportionately Jewish media and all those terrorist attacks in Iraqi schools and markets were twoofed up by the CIA?

The Imperial Anatomy of Al-Qaeda Part I Part II Part III
This three-part series on “The Imperial Anatomy of Al-Qaeda” examines the geopolitical historical origins and nature of what we today know as al-Qaeda, which is in fact an Anglo-American intelligence network of terrorist assets used to advance American and NATO imperial objectives in various regions around the world.

I assume you are correct about the legal use; what I find unnerving is that toxic phosphoric acid is "OK" to used in populated areas.

The alternatives are a less effective observation marker before firing artillery at an urban target, or simply throwing up one's hands and not retaliating at all when terrorists murder civilians and then flee into a populated area.

He sure is. You'd have to be a pretty big douchebag to be Bin-Laden approved.

That's correct. Thegreatsatan invented Al-Qaeda as a beard for whenever she decided to attack herself, than as an excuse to to invade Iraq...after which to attack her own troops in Iraq thereby compromising the entire operation to get oil which, it turns out, they didn't.

And that concludes another episode of As the Anti-Semitic Twoofer Turns.

The population of readers capable of reading Fisk's nonsense without experiencing attacks of convulsive laughter is quickly approaching zero. His use of "sources" is particularly ridiculous...

It has been common knowledge for years among British and American reporters that Bob can just make things up or lift other’s work without attribution and embellish it. I recall him doing it to me on a story in Kuwait about the killings of Palestinians at the hands of Kuwaitis following the liberation of the emirate. I remember also the time Fisk filed a datelined Cairo story about a riot there when he was in fact at the time in Cyprus.
Pope’s theory on this — why Bob gets away with it — is that fellow members of the press corp don’t like to dish the dirt on their colleagues.

No one, outside of the usual fantasists, take this fumbling old fool seriously.

Thanks for digging this up. It's essential reading, especially for those who have been surprised to find the US government and Al-Qaeda on the same side of this Syria thing.

Note this from the original thread:

A reading advice: When the guys at globalresearch say "New World Order", they don't mean what Alex Jones means, but the post cold war period following the "unipolar moment" after the USSR collapsed - described and envisioned by many, including Poppy Bush, with that term. It's unfortunate (and i think deliberate) that the term is now associated by intellectual lightweights with imaginary blood-drinking satanists trying to depopulate the planet.

So basically you miss the Soviet Union and that's why you suck up to Iran and Assad?

Makes sense.

Note this from the original thread:

Do you still assert AQ is an Anglo-American intelligence network? How do American efforts to decapitate AQ and imprison and interrogate it's members play into that? Do you have documentation of the U.S. directly funding AQ in Syria and providing direct material assistance and advice, or is merely being in the same place at the same time as folks the U.S. has kinda sorta backed good enough for you?

Are you a Rush Limbaugh backer? He appears to be on your side of the question, so therefore you must be, I guess.

The story around Azaz stays interesting:

Al Akhbar said:
Six of the most powerful rebel factions in Syria issued a joint statement on Thursday telling an al-Qaeda front group to withdraw from the northern town of Azaz bordering Turkey. [...]

Hours before the statement by the six rebel groups was made public, hundreds of ISIL fighters were advancing towards the border post with Turkey near Azaz.

Major rebel groups Ahrar al-Sham, Liwa al-Tawhid and Jaysh al-Islam all signed the statement urging "our brothers in ISIL to withdraw their troops and vehicles to their main headquarters immediately".

"We consider them above spilling the blood of Muslims or rushing to describe them as infidels and apostates."

The statement also called for "an immediate ceasefire" between ISIL and the Northern Storm brigade in Azaz.

It said both ISIL and the Northern Storm had to "resort immediately to the Islamic court, which will remain in session in Aleppo for 48 hours", to settle their differences. [...]

The interesting thing here is that those six groups are all Islamists themselves and at least the three main ones cited are also signatories to the recent statement of rejection of the exile puppet opposition and their imaginary FSA command structure ... co-signed by Jabhat Al-Nusra, the other Al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria, on the US list of terrorist organizations.

So after the "FSA" finally and undeniably (if you aren't Fabius) sunk into irrelevancy, it should be harder to explain who among the "rebels" exactly receives the non-lethal and lethal aid from "us", and why they deserve it. Well, some already see a campaign in the leading propaganda outlets to introduce something new and fancy: Your Moderate Cuddly Homegrown Al-Qaeda

The initial UN-OPCW team has already arrived in Syria on Tuesday.

PressTV (just to give our very special friends opportunity to cause some laugh-at-ad-hominem moments) said:
The joint mission of the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said on Thursday that it “has made encouraging initial progress" in the Arab country, adding that the documents provided by the Syrian government “look promising.” [...]

Have any of you bothered to read the UNSC resolution, and do you have any comments on it?

It's the title of the thread, is all I'm sayin'. :p

Syria chemical arms removal begins

BBC said:
[...] "Today is the first day of destruction, in which heavy vehicles are going to run over and thus destroy missile warheads, aerial chemical bombs and mobile and static mixing and filling units," a source with the inspection operation told the French AFP news agency.

It is not clear at which of the 19 chemical weapons sites declared by the government Sunday's operation is taking place.

Destruction of the stockpile is not expected to be straightforward as some sites are in combat zones as Syria is still ravaged by civil war.

It is the first time the OPCW - based in the Hague - has been asked to destroy a chemical weapons armoury during a conflict.[...]

Next lining up in Damascus: DER SPIEGEL. Ok, when you grant an interview to FOX, why not to them as well? ;)

Interview is not yet on the SPIEGEL website, but SANA has published it just half an hour ago. "On Monday", I guess. So that they can have their pathetic cover ("How do you live with this guilt, Mr. Assad?") without anybody reading it in advance ... I just hope for them they haven't been too liberal with the translation/editing...

Well, you have to give the bitches credit for talking to his face like they write about him in their paper. Which is a first for any "western" outlet I saw interviewing him. Also wondered if he'll ever lose his temper ... no video recording available, but maybe this time he did a bit.

[...] Der Spiegel: The legitimacy of a president does not rest on slogans and promises, but on actions. As a result of the gas attack against your people, you forfeited every right to be in your position.

President Assad: We did not use chemical weapons;this is not true. And the picture you are drawing of me is not true. The United States, the entire western world, the richest countries in the Arab world and neighbouring Turkey are against me, and terrorists are crossing the borders from Iraq. On top of all of this, I kill my people, who support me nevertheless!Am I superhuman? No. So, why am I still in power two and half years on? The answer is simple: because a large segment of the Syrian people support me, they support the government and the state. Whether they constitute 50% or less, that is a different issue. But this large segment also means ‘legitimacy.’This is how things are in reality. [...]

Der Spiegel: Isn’t it puzzling that we, in the West, have a completely different assessment of the situation?

President Assad:In fact, your region is always late in recognizing reality and is extremely slow in understandingthis reality. In the beginning, we talked about violent protests, while you talked about peaceful demonstrations. When we started talking about extremists, you were still talking about “some militants.”When we talked about al-Qaeda, you were still talking about a few terrorists, although they are actually the majority. Now you realize that it is about 50/50. Take, for instance, Secretary of State Kerry who still sticks to the past and talks about 20%. This is exactly what I meant with the reality deficit you have. [...]

I'll take the deafening silence, in response to my question, to be "no, Darth, we did not bother to read UN Security Council Resolution 2118."

Please do so, and resume the discussion in the thread title.

Syria and UN Security Council Decision. It is no longer a speculation nor a hope, it happened. I read some news today that some of the CW stocks are in the process of being destroyed already. Not sure where.

What that has to do with the Syrian Civil War, which to date seems not to have a solution, remains an open question.

Lets hope the CW inspectors there in Syria ensure they get all those chemical weapons which might present a danger to all Syrians...perhaps that even present a danger to peoples beyond the borders of just that country.
