I was thinking it might be useful to set up an archive with material about her;
I will be doing just that for my own use with the site. I am not certain what copyright issues there would be in making it available for others to use. This is something which can be figured out at a later date.[/QUOTE]
Great job....can't wait to see where it goes!
Thankis, 'scratcher!
Thanks y, and thanks for the anagrams. "War on evil by posts" - love it!
This may already have been mentioned somewhere, but didn't Sylvia Browne plagiarize Joe Nickell (of all people) in her most recent book?
I don't know if "plagiarism" is the right word - legally - but Nickell did indeed write an article on the striking similarities between her book's section on the Shroud of Turin and something he had written. It will be mentioned on the site.
I love how she tells the parents when they counter her... 'I don't care'.
She's a sweetheart, isn't she?
hmm, would that make her an accessory after the fact, to her own assault.
My brain hurts!
Robert, best of luck. We're all rooting for you.
Thanks, Palimpsest.
Since there was mention of a CMS: Will the site be big enough to justify the implementation of a search? (Full text, possibly, or at least keywords or something ...)
If it does, a CMS might be a good ide; or at least a databse driven site should be looked into.
I think that this is definitely in the site's future as I see it, but will not be a part of the initial version of the site.
Don't know if anyone's suggested it yet, but it might be worth adding misspellings like "Sylvia Brown" to the keywords, given the number of people who may not get it right the first time...
Yup, it's on my to-do list. I've already registered the domain name without the "e" and am redirecting any traffic to the actual site.
Joining the party, whee! I'll add a link to my personal home page when I get home from work.
Thanks, Genesius!
Might I also suggest a good way to improve its google ranking might be to add some content that other people might find it worth linking to? I'm sure RSL is working behind the curtain now to create a really comprehensive resource center, but it wouldn't hurt to have a skeleton up now to give an idea what kinds of information are going to be presented (video clips, transcripts, cached lists of predictions, etc).
This cannot be done until I have finished designing the site's layout. I plan for the initial version of the site to go up in the next 2-3 weeks. It won't have a whole lot of content at that point, but will definitely enough for people to decide whether or not they want to support it with a link.
Have you thought about having bumber stickers made that simply say "www.stopsylviabrowne.com"?
SPQR, you leave my bumber out of this!
Yes, I will be looking into things like that, after the site is up and a going concern.
My own minimalistic contribution is to be found on my LJ blog. Going under the username of hawk_one.
FSMspeed, Robert!
Thanks, Hawk. I feel His Noodly Appendage guiding me along!
Sadly, I don't post much, but I'll contribute to the Bomb.
Good luck, RS!
Thanks Brad, every little bit helps!
