• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

StopSylviaBrowne.com

Make it look good. And remember probably about 1000 times more people will be looking at this website than have looked at the "stop kaz" website.
That's the hope!

Are you getting help from others for the design or graphics?
So far, no. I'm sure I'll be asking for it at some point, though. I appreciate the offer of your help, and may take you up on it at some point. Right now, I am still working out how I want the site to look and work. Once I've decided that, I'll know if and how much I'll need assistance.

Actual Post:There is one simple thing everyone could do to help with almost no effort. If you have any sort of web page, even family photos, personal page whatever, put a link to RSLANCASTER's SB page. The more pages link to it the higher it will appear in search results.
Thanks for the suggestion, valis.

Assuming the page you have is on google and assuming someone has already added Lancaster's website to google directory to be scanned.
It has been on google for several days:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="stopsylviabrowne"&btnG=Search

And it seems I've already been called a fascist: ufodames.blogspot.com

Thanks Stew, for weighing in there...

It might be a good idea to look at the traffic for stopkaz.com and see if the new page can deal with multiples of that, then.
The Sylvia site is currently configured for up to 250,000 MB of traffic per month. If I need to upgrade that, I will.

I just recently met a true-believer in this garbage. I'll be mining the site. Thanks a million.

Well, you're not on the first page for searching on "Sylvia Browne". But you have to love the fact that the top four hits are (in order):
1) Sylvia's official website
2) Quackwatch.org page on her
3) Wiki page on her
4) Randi's Sylvia clock

It was noted in the other thread that you should probably include just the name as well, as in

Sylvia Browne

as the searches will likely hit that better than the concatenated words.

[Very Slight Derail] This week, I'm going to try to dissect one of Sylvia Browne's appearances on Montel. My DVR's set to record. Probably won't show until Friday, since I'm going to be spending the bulk of my Wednesdays and Thursdays away from my TV. [/Very Slight Derail]

DANG IT!!!!

It's Wednesday again, and I forgot to watch Montel.
I normally watch it, just to have an excuse for yelling at the tv.

Bob,

You know how I feel about this, my friend. I can't think of a project that I would rather donate my time and a bit of cash towards.

One of my closest friends fell victim to SB when she was at her most vulnerable - just following the sudden death of her husband of 23 years. And I have a copy of the tape to prove it.

When SB entered the room to give my friend a so-called reading, she brought with her an egg timer. When the bell rang after 30 minutes, SB got up and abruptly left the room. You can even hear the timer in the tape.

Sylvia . . . such a sick, strange, evil person. I am so pleased you are taking this on, Bob. Thank you.

Julia

Hi, Julia --

Sorry if this is redundant, because I haven't gotten to the end of this thread yet, but have you considered sending a copy of your tape to the James Randi Educational Forum? That'd be something they could put into their archives. Obviously, you'd have to ask your friend, especially since it has to do with something so personal, but I hope the two of you will consider it.

Rob -- excellent excellent idea. I've linked to it on my blog too. I can also proofread and can do some basic HTML and PHP/Cold Fusion coding, so if you need any help, please let me know. I'm in transit to Japan and won't have my computer for a couple of months, but at that point I would love to help you or anyone else who's got a similar project. It's just that important.
