Stop Jenny McCarthy

Ah, the social page is not developed, and not sure where the contact the admin link is. Oy, the silly place that the space is being rented from may be leading viewers astray. There is not an option to delete the social page, and now the social page is a pain in the tooshie. There are options to add a blog and a forum, but don't know if anyone wants to go that far. Oy. Just wanted a simple website with a few pages to debunk the claims made by Jenny. Sighs.

I see the site links don't yet work. I tried to email my address and offer of assistance.

Skitigirl, all help is appreciated. This is a huge undertaking. So feel free to contribute. The information@stopjenny email should work. Also, you can contact me via my email on the page. It's the one under Contacts that says "M. Rosch."

I am waiting for Bill Maher with his "The Germ Theory of Disease is Woo and Modern Medicine is a Fraud, and All Disease is because of bad diet" beliefs to have Jenny McCarthy on his show. That will be a perfect storm of Woo.

Except when he wats to have a go atreligious people about the cervical cancer vaccine - when he suddenly believes that vaccines work...

I've posted the info on UK skeptics to try to get support to help get the Stop site ranked higher. Sadly this whole bs started with our own Dr. Wakefield and his poverty stricken research, so feel obliged to assist.

Good wishes for your efforts. I would pray for you, but as we know, it don't bleeding well work.

Thank you! If you google "stop jenny" the site is first. *grins*

The forward of Jenny's book was written by an MD that claims that since mercury has been removed from vaccines, now kids are getting an OVERDOSE of aluminum instead. argh. There are tons of other misleading claims in just a few paragraphs. This guy not only needs a chemistry lesson, but to stop saying that "Medical interventions have caused many cases of autism". No proof, just scathing claims. Who needs proof when you have books to sell? Is this guy getting a cut of sales or what? I sure hope not, but if he is - that would explain his unethical delusions.

Ohhh, and GET THIS:
http://www.drjaygordon.com/development/index.asp

The doc who wrote the foreword in Jenny's book also pushes other CURES. Okay, not a credible guy at all, and he needs to be stopped too. Argh.

Was he the guy on Dr. Phil that said applied kinesiology could be used to help ADD kids pick foods that wouldn't make them hyper?

So he DOES PROFIT from pushing bogus cures. Freaking unbelievable.

Why do parents put up with being duped by these people. They are just a bunch of hypocrites that say "big pharma" is paying doctors to PUSH vaccines for profit, when these BOOK SELLERS make more PURE PROFIT than doctors or drug companies could EVER make even if they did charge for the vaccines. Jenny and Dr. Jay are HUGE money making con artist hypocrites.

I fixed the link I left in another forum.

Has anyone contacted them about this yet?

Yes, PZ has posted plugged it on his blog, as has Orac. I believe these are linked to a few posts above. There's also a plug on Skeptico, which happened without me even contacting them (so news is speading). And I just contacted Phil Plait and requested a plug about an hour ago so hopefully we'll see a mention on his blog shortly. I've also started a thread on the SGU forum about it.

You should note that the November issue of Parenting magazine has a vaccines article, and dismisses Jenny McCarthy pretty solidly (along with other vaccine nuts).

Yeah, arthwollipot, that would be cool. We have exceeded the bandwidth though, and had to buy more already. It's affordable still even for quite a bit more, so we can take the hits :D

Cool!
Jessica Snyder Sachs and the magazien are to be commended for the presentation of the information.

I bet a lot of antivaccine nuts are bombarding them with hate mail.
We got some emails from this place:
http://www.worldmercuryproject.org/
The guy (Mr. Galen) said he is doing a documentary. I'm thinking it will go up on YouTube? We're getting spammed with other links like that, and antivaccine YouTube links. Sigh. They just don't bother to read anything on our website. It's just a knee-jerk reaction to "stop jenny mccarthy".

I got one word for you: focus. The site is an attempt to stop Jenny from publishing her anti-science. Don't wander away from that into Bill Moyer or Jay Gordon or anything else - Jenny is your target, and let someone else take care of the rest. A mention on your site, at the appropriate place, is all they deserve. Remember that you are taking a risk here that your site will, rather than spreading truth, simply peke curiosity about her and her agenda, and that is not useful for anyone. Focus, tell the comlete story in all truth. Tell is satisfyingly and leave no unanswered questions behind. Note that RSL has not deviated from that; he mentions Sylvia's son, but only to the extent that it affects Sylvia's story. Get someone really good at English exposition (not just syntax and spelling, but development, climax and satisfying ending) to polish the writing. Likewise, get someone with artistic talent to design the website.

I offered RSL once to help him in the technical side of things but being a programmer himself, he wanted to learn from first hand. I'll extend that offer to you, if you want it.

Cool site. I found it by way of Stumble. Didn't take too long to track it back to this forum :)

I was worried when I saw the tagline on vaccines on the cover, but was very pleased with the article. I have found Parenting to be mostly good, although one of the regular doctors there did jump on the accupuncture bandwagon in the same issue.
