2. That's certainly not how they're made out in the UK media which - I'm sure the other Brits will agree - seems to rest under no illusions about their less than savoury activities.

I live in the UK also and Elizabeth Wurtzel's comments are utter, utter arse gravy. Everybody knows about the rockets and the suicide bombings. The welfare stuff they do is barely touched upon except as an explanation for their popularity.

I do not recall anyone here advocating the destruction of the state of Israel.

Oops. My mistake. There is Sunni Man. He was banned. won't be hearing from him soon.

So rather than take the lack of response as a sign that those who hold this absurd view have no answer, I would suggest that instead the lack of response is related to the fact that few if any here advocate the destruction of the state of Israel.

True, Hamas is not a good comparison to Nazis. The Nazis, for all their anti-Jewish rhetoric didn't openly call for the killing of Jews. They did that in secret documents and behind the walls of concentration camps. In contrast, Hamas openly calls for the killing of Jews in their publicly available charter and proudly announce their responsibility when they manage to kill Jews.

And no one bats an eye when Hamas flags fly freely at a "peace rally".

My reading of these threads (and I'm sure I'll be told I'm wrong) is that people feel the alternative to what Israel are doing is the destruction of Israel. Therefore if you are against what Israel are doing you are necessarily for the destruction of Israel.

Well, there is - Israel could wipe them off the face of the Earth. Israel acts with charity and kindness, whatever you choose to think, against it's enemies -given what it could do to them with what it has to work with. I would not.




ETA Because, primitives take kindness for weakness, tolerance for weakness and believe their gods will save them - so they believe they can hurt others with impunity and persecute those who do not bow to whatever piece of crap they worship with no penalty.

Quite correct - I am against any group that uses the excuses of religion, race, etc. to attack others and consider them to be primitive in thought and action whatever trappings of civilization they may have picked up. Self defense is, for me, the only reason to attack others- and self-defense does not mean your response to my response to your initial attack. Which is why I believe the way I do - if you are attacked, the attacker should not have the ability to attack you again after you have responded to their initial attack.
