Some thoughts about the Mohammed Cartoons

No, a "real" man would take action in defence of the wronged.
A "real" man would try to get a clue about the real world. It might save him from making a fool of himself and might even give him a leg-up on the idiots who are supposed to be his competition.
Not sit there and draw pictures or make up jokes!
Sitting and drawing pictures is good exercise for an artist and something hardly worthy of attention.

If someone made a filthy cartoon about your mother and then stuck it in your face. Would you be mad? Same thing!
I would laugh. I used to collect funny cartoons of my parents. Unfortunately, I have grown out of that habit. I'm afraid I've become a grown-up.

You should try it some time.

But can you explain how religous belief is possibly in any way, shape or form akin to your mother?
It was a comparison.

In Islam the teachings of the Prophet is everything. His words and actions guide all that we do 24/7/365.

We use his teachings in personal conduct, family life, marriage, personal finances, child raising, business dealings, etc.

Utter tribe. My brother-in-law is a Muslim and the only condescention he makes to being Islam is that he doesn't eat pork.

Islam as such is like most other monotheistic views. It is only because it hasn't yet gone through a reformation that it appears that its believers are stuck in the 1400's.

Can you explain how the same does not apply to a communist, anarchist, enviromentalist, fascist, or a member of the united states military?

Or do we have to stop criticising or satarising those belief systems too?

Some say 'all you need is love'. Pretty deep claim. By that reasoning, should homosexuality and heterosexuality not be satarised or ridiculed?

Satirize anything you want. Just not the Prophet of Islam.

That 'real man' comment confirms a lot.

Oh, and if we want to satirize the prophet of Islam, we will. You don't get to tell people who don't believe in your religion what to do.

It is very important that one does not think for oneself, then?

Ah...the point of the matter. So we can poke fun at anything EXCEPT what you and other hardheads believe in. Are you familiar with the show on cable that has Penn and Teller in it?
