Socialist Dem wingnuts march on Washington

oh dear, not another health care thread, the right wing claims have been debunked over and over again.

The U.S ranking slips considerably due to cost and access, not the quality of the care received.

Just curious, but are those not important issues? If it was efficient shouldn't it provide the best care possible for the lowest price possible? The US system seems horribly inefficient to me.

USA: $6096 per capita
Canada: $3173 per capita.

Personally, I'd prefer a two tiered system. A base Health Care coverage for everyone, regardless of income, no refusal, but that can be supplemented by additional insurance. private rooms, less waiting times, access to perhaps experimental drugs. That sort of thing. A blending of the Canadian and US systems .. might work well.

I agree wholeheartedly.

It's comforting to know a major illness won't bankrupt me, but something needs to be done about the ridiculous wait times and doctor shortages.

One benefit to Canadians if the U.S. ever decided to implement government run healthcare would be having our doctors and nurses stay up here instead going down south to earn more money.

Timely post here.

Absolutely, but why are costs so high?

Malpractice and insurance?

If an illegal immigrant is denied care does that equate to poor access?

Just some things to think about, wish I had all the answers.

As a Canadian I'm more interested in US politics than my own because the ups and downs of the US economy have a greater affect on my wallet than anything my government does.
Tell that to Albertans who lived during the NEP.

I don't get the OP's rage. His cadre is ruling the roost up here these days. Taxes are down. Military spending is up. Civil servants are demonized. Science is second fiddle to ideology. Shouldn't he be reveling in righty righteousness?

Rage? What would make you think I was angry?

From my understanding it's mostly the insurance companies.

And, personally, I think it's in our best interest to treat anyone, even illegal aliens. Concepts like herd immunity come to mind.

Now back to the OP, it seems the Democratic Socialists of America were part of the march and they have clear links to the Democratic party which can be found here:

Also it's evident that the groups organizing and promoting this event (link provided in a previous post) are democratic supporters and voters for the most part.

Why did you post a link to a New Zealand website? Couldn't find anyone else to support your delusions?

Treating non-payers might have bad consequences and may be one of the reasons costs are so high. Cutting off your nose to spite your face, comes to mind. Saying that, I couldn't imagine turning away a sick person.

It was probably all of your angry posts.

You can infer I'm angry from posts written in this thread?

You'd better contact JR, I think you've won a million dollars.

Oh wait, I'd have to in fact be angry first. Sorry about that.

Maybe I should use more smileys like BAC. Then again some people have a problem with that too. :(
Actually, I think the problem is really more along the lines of a snotty Canadian trolling Americans about America.

Didn't you get the memo? We're polite.

Thank you.

And, likely, the reason there are so many non-payers is because the costs are so high - especially those who aren't covered by insurance companies. Vicious circle, isn't it?

In the end, I think insurance companies have ruined american health care.

So now we have angry and snotty? Will you be adding any more erroneous adjectives to describe my posts?

While you're giving etiquette lessons, maybe you'd like to revisit this:

(Reading more of Rep. Bobby's bills).

The southern USA is made of crazy. How do people like this get elected?
