Don't count on that, but aside from that, although due process is high on the list here, it's also about what it means to be a citizen, whether our presumed rights mean anything at all, and whether the Constitution is anything at all. If citizens are exiled, and especially to countries with which they have no history at all - even those guilty as sin of heinous crimes - the idea of what it means to be a citizen is lost. It becomes a favor granted by a dictator and nothing more.

Trump can't hold a candle to Hitler. His assassination would make him a martyr and the figurehead of a cankerous cause for eons.

Political assassination by the Left would require a crazy loner, as there is no enabling narrative in vogue to supply an ideologue with the permission structure. You'd have to import a commie from the 1930s. Meanwhile, twice have crazies from the Right and the Fringie Whacko League tried it on Trump. Meaning, real danger is from guns. That's a Right thing.
