Haven't decided yet. There really isn't a costume that would scream River Tam though. Thoughts?

My sister was going to have a Joss Whedon party and I had a costume in mind from Serenity. The grey one with the metal pieces on it.

What about that purpley-bluish dress she wears in parts of Serenity?

You could also wear one of those Jayne Cobb hats to sell the character. She might not wear that type of hat on the show, of course, but Dragon*Con had no shortage of Rivers wearing them, anyway.

If permitted, see if you could get some fake bladed weapons that resemble those weapons she was using against the Reavers.

Don't forget to keep your hair long and messy. (I don't recall you ever having black hair. So, perhaps a wig might be in order?)

You will not be jumping alone. A trained professional skydiving person will be strapped to you.

Of course, you could jump out of the plane without being strapped to anything. But, then you'll miss the rest of TAM...

A long blue dress and clunky, heavy boots or something and it's pretty unmistakable for anyone that knows the show.

Of course, you could just hang around with me a lot. Since the theme at SkepchickCon the week before is "space", and since I don't plan on bringing tons of dress-up clothes, I naturally went with a firefly costume. Of course, I only had a few weeks to throw it together, so I could use another Firefly-esque someone in my proximity to really sell it.
