Like MANY others folks in this forum, I have compared some in the MAGA-wing of the GOP to Nazis and Fascists, or semi-Fascists. Its kinda common these days.

But compare the Democrats to Stalin and Soviets? That's absolute BS I have never done such a thing.

That may be, but the Ukraine thing is going to drag this on and on. The Mexico wall pops up now and then, but it's not as big as the other Pentagon and State Department stuff.

Having dealt with Trump 4 years, the Democrats are not going to give a party still led by Trump anything. Other than they are now giving Trump the shut down he wants. Let us see how it goes.

Shutdowns can be worked and solved once the actual shutdown begins. This is the show every year or two from now on.

Did they support the methodology created by Roe &
Casey? Did they support higher taxes on the wealthy and corporations? Did they support stronger gun laws? Did they support fighting climate change? Did they support maintaining and strengthening our international alliances? Did they support reducing aid to Israel to convince them to end their apartheid policies in the West Bank? Did they support the justice department prosecuting Trump for insurrection and sedition and for his crimes regarding classified documents at Mar-A-Lago? Did they support Trump and others being prosecuted for the fake electors scheme?

If so then they indeed may have been centrists or even liberals. But certainly not conservatives.

The problem is the GOP cannot even agree among itself what to demand. as the voting down of McCarthy's CR shows.
Even most conservatives commentarots are appaled by the stupidity of the GOP in the House.
 
Getting back to the thread, given Trump is influencing the MAGA nut-jobs in the House to hold out on approving of the budget it's possible Mr Con-artist is getting revenge on the the people influencing his being prosecuted.
 
If Donnie thinks this will delay his prosecution, he is wrong; the part of the Justice Department handling ciminal cases is considered "Essential" and will keep on working.
 
We all know how this ends up. There are more than three Rs from districts Biden won. They have more power than the Trumptrash caucus to make McCarthy call a vote because they can form a cross-aisle majority. There will be plenty of shouting and f-bombs dropped but in the end, it's going to be a bipartisan vote.

It's what has to happen to resolve the cognitive dissonance of wanting very much to be in the middle of two extremes, with the political reality that the choices are sanity vs spite. Any rational person can't not take a side, but doing so puts you nowhere near the middle. Ergo, imaginary radical leftists lurking behind every door and under every rock, posing just enough threat to America to make a solid blue ticket also the centrist one.

Trump lives in his own fantasy world where he'll get out of his predicament by whatever his latest imaginary solution is. Thus believing he just needs to defund the DoJ or the DC courts or Fani Wilson's prosecution ... you name it, he imagines it is a real thing.

His speeches are becoming more and more unhinged every day.
