Trump's big two, urgent problems are the civil case in New York and the Georgia criminal case. Neither will be impacted at all by a federal shutdown.
McConnell said they would.Very surprised to see what can only be called a strong bipartisan showing for a CR coming out of the House. Can we safely assume the Senate will rush it through?...
What is in the House bill that got so much Democrat support?

Democrats generally support a functional federal government, since they believe government can help people. What is in the House bill that got so much Democrat support?
45 day CR got through the House.
It is "clean", meaning it does not include funding for Ukraine. That will go through a separate bill. The CR passed with very strong Democrat support (335-91, I have not seen the breakdown by party).
McConnell has announced that the Senate Republicans will vote against it.It would only take one defector or one absentation for McConnel's effort to fail (Senate is currently 49 Dems and 50 Republicans until Feinstein's replacement gets sworn in).Edit: My mistake, it is still 50 to 49 in favor of the Dems. That's 47 Dems plus three independents that caucus with them. Feinstein's replacement would only change it to 51-49, either way the Dems still have more votes than the Republicans.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D NY) set off the fire alarm in the House office building, apparently in an effort to delay the vote. He tried to claim it was some sort of accident, but the video seems pretty clear.
I don't know if it will get through the Senate. Dems may once again find out that "Death in Office" is not a very good political strategy, but it seems to be one that they'll take to the grave anyway.
The Freedom Caucus will be gunning for McCarthy for allowing a vote with strong Democrat support.
ETA: Republicans: 126 yea : 90 nay : 5 not vote
Dems: 209 yea : 1 nay : 2 not vote
Is it though? It didn't think we were funding Ukraine on a month-to-month basis.I am shockjed by the Democratic betrayal of Urkraine. This is a huge win for Putin...

Right now I am beginning to agree with the MAGARATS on one thing; They system is so corrupt it needs to be torn down completly.
Not a betrayal, just a short temporary setback. Ukraine would have to have done something FOR us, for the USA to have betrayed them. And while I fully support aiding Ukraine's defensive war against Russia, to date Ukraine hasn't really done anything for us in exchange.

What, exactly, would you have a country that's presently fighting for it's very existence, do for the U.S. at this time?![]()

I guess back in 1941, this guy would ask what was Britian doing for the US?
