...Shall Not Be Infringed

That's what the boys said on their way home.

Eta: most of the people are very confused and apologetic. Some just laugh it off and leave. A few were fun and easy on the eyes, so got invited to hang out, and did.

It would probably happen less if I actually locked the door.
If i found someone in my home I would assume they were a criminal and demand they get the ◊◊◊◊ out immediately.

If I was lucky enough to have my gun Id tell my wife to call 911 and Id hold the guy for the police, especially if he had a weapon.

Were I of a meaner mindset, I could probably have a half dozen notches on my shotgun and no charges filed against me under Castle Doc and the like. But if I don't have reason to be in fear, I assume the more pedestrian explanation for them.being there and not only do i not draw on them, but I tell them where the beer is.

You must live in a very wealthy place or a very isolated community full of only friendly & trustworthy people.
I have lived in quite a number of different urban and suburban communities, none would be considered wealthy or isolated.. My lifestyle would have been considered comfortable middle class while I was working. Now retired we find that we have to watch our budgets carefully. My life-long experience is that the vast majority of people are trustworthy enough not to go out of their way to rob people or otherwise cause grief to strangers. It is not necessary to be friendly in order to have basic respect for others. Burglaries do of course occur but seem to happen when homes are unoccupied. I have also never been afraid to walk alone after dark anywhere that I have lived. Although I hesitate to say it the kinds of problems encountered and described by posters on this board that would cause them to consider arming themselves seem to manifest uniquely in the USA. Very few, if any, non-American posters have expressed fear in their own homes as a reason for wanting to arm themselves.

What are the benefits of the 2nd amendment?
I asked basically the same thing back in 2018 and was immediately accused of having an ulterior motive.
