August is done and we know how the Conspiranoids go for broke with extra stupid every time the anniversary of September 11th comes around.

Should be a good month, let's have the nominations reflect that.

I'm putting this one in more as a superb example of lying than a traditional Stundie. RedIbis claimed he had a document claiming that the FBI had no evidence of what planes crashed on 9-11. When it was pointed out that his letter wasn't from the FBI, it was from the NTSB, he replied:

So we can add another gov't agency that has kept no records of the investigation.

Because the letter must have been from both of them, presumably.

Heh, like I said, this should be a good month.

I'm keeping an eye on bwinright--the boy is touched in the head, I tell ya.

Well I have to get in an Apollo one occasionally, and if this one can't win... well they probably never will.

How does one simulate 1/6 Earth gravity, well according to Jon_Death (previously known as Mr_Guitar_Death) over at IMDB, they used....

Not good enough?

How about this interesting question....

why didn't the moon have a lethal field of radiation after immeasurable exposure to radioactive flares?

Yes why indeed...

He follows up with...

Referencing the lack of radiation was simply another piece of evidence I identified. While others have referenced radiation, no one has bothered to reference the lack of lethal radioactivity that the moon should be generating after this much exposure. What are said to be samples of moon rock are shown to have extreme exposure to radiation which still occurs to this very day, why weren't they lethally radioactive or at least radioactive?
How is it they concluded there wouldn't be lethal doses of radiation emitted by the surface of the moon when they were aware that the moon is regularly exposed to high doses of radiation?

You think someone should point out that exposure to most forms of radiation generally doesn't actually make the exposed item radioactive itself.

Ahh, comic book physics. I wonder if he thinks landing on the moon would give you superpowers...

Haven't you seen the way those astronauts could jump while on the moon?

Sadly, it was very temporary, and the power had faded by the time they got back to Earth.

This one isn't laugh-out-load, but:

The Catholic Church is 1700 years old. They've got plenty of time. They pretty much control everything right now. Trouble with most folks is they are slaves but just don't know it. Check out Eric Jon Phelps' VATICAN ASSASSINS. He makes an excellent case for the Vatican being responsible for just about everything ugly for the last 200 years.

What better cover than to pretend to be holy when you are actually evil?

It's been working great, especially since the Jesuits poisoned Pope Clement XIV. Since then, every Pope, ruler, politician, and corporate leader knows better than to cross them. JFK, RFK, MLK, JFK, Jr., and others have tried to stand up to these Jesuits but look where they all end up.

I mean, seriously: What the hell did JFK JR. ever do that would warrant being listed in that company?

Helium?? :eye-poppi To explain the difference in gravity??...

Experiment for Mr. Death, there! Put helium in a balloon; observe it "float". Now, put an empty balloon in a room full of helium. WT:talk034: happens?

Sheesh...

... you know, part of the problem in dealing with pseudoscientific... ummm... assertions is that you never know when someone God-honestly believes what he's saying from when someone's just trying to pull people's legs by playing the most clichéd version of a woo peddler ever. Some folks troll that way; I personally know a couple who troll various social forums trying out the most outrageous stuff just to laugh at the reactions.

Did you know that Asians are secretly alien spawn? Neither did I.

It's common knowledge that both China and Japan attempted to keep westerners out of their respective countries. But why? Was it merely because of racial bigotry? Probably not. The Chinese and the Japanese were just prepping their space vehicles for launch when all the while, the rest of the world used wooden rafts.

Had the following exchange (possibly still in progress) with zaphod2016 over in the August Stundies Finals starting here

suggest we hold a "best fallacy of September '08" poll this month. At the end of the month we will vote on which skeptic (or other poster) used obscene logical fallacies in their debunking.

Of course, when it comes to ad hominem, everyone (including myself) has been guilty in one post or another. Perhaps we will determine who uses the ole' ad hom most frequently.

Anyone else think this is a good/interesting experiment?

Given your choice to post twice in a row, this statement is stupid and wrong.

I'm pretty sure there is a joke here, but I'm not smart enough to get it.

Nice little demonstration of this person's knowledge of the ad hom fallacy b/w taking people to task for using it!

Sword of Truth shows us that its okay to generalize- as long as you're generalizing about truthers.

This is a little more representative of the twoofers than then homeless man incident that showed up yesterday, I think.

DISCLAIMER: Yes, I am aware that this does not reflect on Obama supporters or democrats as a whole. Which is why this is posted HERE and not in "politics".

According to CHF, an example of anti-semitism.

Well, CHF and the Southern Poverty Law Center, who classify them as a hate group (along with the Jewish Defense League, lest anyone think it's a case of zionism run amok or other such stupidity.)

ETA: What? They also have "The Redneck Shop" in Laurens on the list?? I don't care, any place that sells Disney's Song of the South videos is OK in my book.

Seconded. Have we ever had a nominee come from the Stundie nominations thread before? :newlol

Thirded. How anybody can look at The American Free Press and not recongnize it as an Anti Semitic, Jew Baiting rag is beyond me. It is not even subtle about it like it used to be.

It was only a matter of time.

Twoofers have, for a long time now, been breaking into stundie threads with their attempts at being cute, like "I nominate so-and-so for believing fire can bring down buildings".

I'm suprised it took so long for an attempted nomination to become a nomination.
