Not an April fool’s joke Lee, April 1st is not for Bigfoot in my book, Linda, I have pics and video from March, now for April, 12 MP HD video of at least 2 creatures in a brush pile peeking above it as I walked by them on 04-02-10, Video is under analysis. We’re gonna call it the “Wack-a-mole” video. It’s taken from 15 feet away, a full facial shot on one of the creatures..in focus..oh yes..more coming as I’m in the woods daily now except for today, Easter Sunday. Sounds too good to be true I know, but wait and see what happens…we have a plan to collect concrete proof of existence, and document the creatures without harming them, but we have to get it before they move from the area. Chris B.
So . . . any updates Chris B?

Okay. We have established that your memory can be faulty.

Given that, it is reasonable to conclude that it's more likely for you to misremember something than for you to have encountered a creature that no scientist has seen and which leaves no evidence.

Thus, without objective evidence we can dismiss your stories. Not because they are not true--but because they do not rise to the level of even being wrong.

I've never claimed to be perfect. What we have established is I have no issue in admitting it if I am in error. I should have said "4 chimps died within a decade by being 'accidentally' cooked alive."

I mistakenly typed "in the 90's" instead of "within a decade" as in fact the chimp Gina, died in 2001. So my original statement about the 4 dead chimps "in the 90's" was flawed. Although 4 chimps did indeed die within a 10 year period from questionable circumstances.

Thus, without objective evidence we can dismiss your stories.

Please do. Chris B

True. You merely took me taking that into account as a personal insult.

Now, that being said. I will say there are some things a person never forgets.
True. I will never forget that huge glass spider. Doesn't mean huge glass spiders exist.

Can you share the details of this sighting? Was this of a living creature you personally witnessed in the flesh? Did you see it move? What led you to believe this was an actual living creature? Were there other sighting reports of giant glass spiders in the area? Any signs of the spider's passing ie prints on the ground, disturbed foliage etc?

Attacking the bigfoot argument is an appraisal of the bigfoot stories because that's actually all there is to the hypothesis.

"but we have to get it before they move from the area."

Same built-in excuse for no footie as NAWAC.

It was about 2 am, central Texas. I saw it walk across a roadway. Matter of fact, I saw it walk over a car. And I have every bit as much evidence for it as any bigfoot believer: I saw it. Remember, there have been NO prints, tracks, scat, fur, or in fact ANY physical evidence put forward for bigfoot that weren't frauds; only hearsay. And that's precisely what you've got for this giant glass spider.

Here's the part you insist on ignoring: I am willing to acknowledge that it was a hallucination. It wasn't real. Hallucinations are well-known side-effects of going three days without sleep. And even if you're honest about believing you saw bigfoot, that IN NO WAY proves that you DID see bigfoot. You could simply have hallucinated it.

Wow this is just like any/all discussion's at BFF(Bigfoot Fantasy with Friends) with Sasfooty....right out of the attention seeking playbook....just not sure why someone would do it here?

Tell me more about Bigfoot's scrotum please.

A source would appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, footers claim they have casts of bigfoots' genitals. IIRC testicle prints at the infamous Skookum elk cast and a poster here (LAL?) claimed Meldrum's collection includes a cast of an anatomically-correct bigfoot female genitalia...

Worry not, the ridiculous in bigfootery can reach extreme levels...

I think this happens way more than people admit. Ive had it happen to me while out turkey hunting. One day I was leaned up against the base of this big hackberry tree, and something caught my attention off to my right. At first I thought it was just a brown leaf shaking in the breeze, but the more I kept looking at it, the more it started looking like the red head of a gobbler peeking over the top of some brush trying to find the hen that was the making calls (me).

At first I shook it off, "nah just a leaf" but I kept staring and I swear I could make out its eyes, beak and snood, every once in a while I could see it turn and look the other way. It was a turkey! Pretty clearly I could see it. I moved super slow to get my gun around without being seen, got my sights on it and just about squeezed off a round before all of a sudden it again just looked like a leaf shaking there in the breeze. I felt really odd about it. I was about to shoot.

Now I empathize with those guys you hear about who end up shooting their buddy or some other hunter while out deer hunting. They always say " I saw a big buck" or "he looked like a deer" even though he was wearing blaze orange. I don't really doubt them.

Great point P can't tell how many sea monsters I've seen in the Chesapeake Bay!

I'm less inclined to accept this. If a person acknowledges they took a shot at something obscured behind brush then they go to prison for negligent homicide. So there is the most powerful incentive in our lives to claim it looked like a buck.

I'm not saying it never happens. But we need to be skeptical in situations like this where the incentives are all wrong for telling the truth. These people are far more motivated to lie than a 'footer is.

Well, ABP, that's a good point. And as a practical matter there is no other way to treat that than as a crime for obvious reasons.

However, the idea that one could never mistake a hunter in orange for a deer, which I've heard many people claim they could/would never do, I find a little hollow. Sometimes, your mind sees what it wants to see. I think this is at the root of why I don't consider all bf reports fabrications.

We certainly agree on this, and power of suggestion/pareidolia is well known. I can give you stories of my own. But ALL of them are fleeting.

I don't really consider such things "sightings". If you read the reports in the BFRO, they're not collections of blobsquatches seen for an instant. They're running across a road in plain view, throwing pigs, bounding 45 feet at a time and so forth. They don't express uncertainty in a context of jumbled scenery like in your story.

In your story, you struggled back and forth. I've never heard a bigfoot sighting story like that. Moreover, we are talking about something that is gigantic. We don't hear too many stories about people that are fresh, well-rested and fed, who are certain they saw giant monsters in clear view.

I know what you mean Cervelo.
He refuses to answer pertinent questions though.
Like where is the photo with such exquisite detail taken in April of 2010?

An honest answer to that one question is impossible in my opinion.
In my opinion, this perfect picture never existed, it was about attention getting.
Just waiting for verification from the wood nymphs. :)

I am sure several people here have heard what happened to Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend in the wilds of Alaska (October 2003). https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...hZA_GkZK3zPyYAg&bvm=bv.78677474,d.aWw&cad=rjt

I just watched the documentary by Werner Herzog called "Grizzly Man".

I do not believe anyone has gotten within 15 feet of something that could kill
them with one swipe of its mighty pig-slapping hand. Nor do I believe that anyone is getting
"habituated" at Area X. (unless someone gets killed, then Bigfoot would leave
some clues that they killed and ate the person. Just like the brown bear that
killed Treadwell and his girlfriend.)

Is there anyone willing to give their life to prove Bigfoot exists?
I think not, and that is what makes the BLAARG exciting.
They have convinced each other how awesome and powerful Bigfoot is,
and only the "knowers" can play and go on "expeditions".

What is confusing is why come to a place where no one will ever be convinced
by their non existing evidence?

ABP, since you live in Alaska would you be more concerned about a bear from
the Katmai peninsula or a Bigfoot?
Probably neither. There is no Bigfoot, and you would never put yourself in
the position that Treadwell did.

Anyway, I would be more concerned with the sudden interest in everything
Alaska. Monsters, Mysteries, Home-buying and squatting. I would not want
them to find my spot. :D

After that 2010 bigfoot close-up tale with high-quality HD pics that never appear, there are not many options left.

If the whole thing is not just a long prank built from tall tales, then it may be someone seeking attention, maybe needing prefessional help. I know which cards will be pulled now, but...

Some footers (some of those with tales of multiple encounters) probably need professional help if they actually believe in all the things they say - they are believing in their fantasies. If they do not believe but keep telling tall tales because they need attention, they may need help too.

Attacking the bigfoot argument is an appraisal of the bigfoot stories because that's actually all there is to the hypothesis.
If you base your opinion on a type of mass hysteria as the reason for Bigfoot sightings, I can see why you feel as you do. The only problem with that theory is that many sightings of Bigfoot happen with multiple witnesses present. I've always been of the opinion that mass hysteria would require independent/individual sightings, with no cases of two or more witnesses viewing the same thing at the same time.

"but we have to get it before they move from the area."

Same built-in excuse for no footie as NAWAC.

Rather than an "built-in excuse" for the footers not collecting evidence, did you consider this may be a common behavior being described for Bigfoot?

I would think if a creature such as described was staying in the exact same place it's entire lifespan, we' have no trouble at all locating them again after the first sighting in that area.

I do agree with you somewhat. Sleep deprivation can cause one to see strange things. (I'm not certain as to your particular case, only from the description that it was 2 am in central TX and not CA implies you may have been traveling for awhile and possibly three days without sleep) In such a case I can understand and agree with why you would dismiss without further investigation.

The problem you get into with the Bigfoot sightings is rarely having similar circumstances though. Some happen when witnesses are well rested during daylight hours. And this is a problem for the "hallucination theory". Another problem for the hallucination theory would be that sometimes there are multiple witnesses that see the exact same thing.

Had my own sightings happened late at night while driving and sleep deprived, and suddenly a dark object simply ran across the road, I would likely have dismissed them as black dog syndrome as well. Unless my buddy was also riding with me and asked me "What the hell was that dark object that just crossed the road?" Chris B.

"Seeing Cryptids: The Problems" is the topic. So according to your statement this discussion can only be held by those with a skeptical point of view on all cryptids and not by anyone having witnessed one particular cryptid? "right out of the attention seeking playbook" That would seem to apply to mass hysteria theory. I'm just pointing out a few flaws in investigation methods and theories on the subject at hand. Like this one.

I know what you mean Cervelo.

Exactly what I have or where I have it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I've watched those documentaries, it's been some time ago. I don't remember the "Grizzly Man" having a girlfreind there but as I said it has been some time ago. I would say the ending is a great example of how NOT to research Brown bears. There were many flaws to the "research methods" displayed if you wanna call them that. I was under the impression from one of the documentaries that it was mostly about some flaky guy from the city who wanted to be accepted as a fellow bear. Some have a different opinion, but I feel the human gene pool was done a great service.

Absolutely no, anyone willing to give up their life for an animal has a serious problem with their priorities.

Anyone can go out trekking with me at anytime during the season. You're welcome to come along. I've never asked for any kind of fee, I only ask you sign a nondisclosure agreement. I can't put you up or feed you though. As soon as the leaves are off the trees the season begins likely within a week or so here. A contact number is on my site.
