Sarah Palin considering 2012 Presidential run!!!

Why not hope for the best people to be candidates, instead of hoping for one to be bad to hopefully ensure easy victory of another?

um..cause I want my candidate to win?

why should I hope for a viable GOP candidate?

Let us assume for the moment Obama does badly as a first-term president, and that Palin wins the Republican nomination -- both by no means certain things, of course. If, then, the democrats run on parky's campaign: "How can you vote for such a stupid broad when you have our brilliant guy?

good strawman.

I take issue here.

"My candidate" is whoever I think will do the best job. Most of the time that happens to be the Democrat. But I've no particular loyalty to the party.

Why be upset that better people are running for office?

Me thinks you hit the Ideology nail right on the head!

Seriously ... If you didn't come back against parky as you did, I was about to reply with similar words.

...on the basis that no prominent Democrat has called Palin a prostitute yet? If you deemed it beneficial to your argument, I'm sure you could find a strawman on Mars.

Broad means prostitute? Did you just seriously make a strawman of a strawman or use hyperbole?

I hope that by then the Teabaggers are strong enough to think that they can be an effective third party. It would draw off the nutbar vote, including the religious whackadoodles, crippling the GOP.

They're 99.44% pure GOP, and were from the start. Their purpose is to impress the notion of some sort of change in the Republican/Conservative rai·son d'être, so that they can disavow responsibility for unfaltering support of the Bush agenda -- even as they connive to continue it.

The tea partiers are a vocal force in "opposition" to deficits. This abject concern was invisible from conservatives until the bank bailout at the very end of Bush's 8 years of record-busting deficit spending. Now all their rending of garments is unaccompanied by any concern for revenue. It's unrealistic upon cursory examination because it's just meaningless jingoizing, thus making Palin is the ideal spokesperson.

"Broad", I thought, was a somewhat demeaning term for a woman in general, not a slang term for prostitute. Perhaps I'm wrong.

i disagree. with her level of political sophistication, closeted fundamentalist Christian beliefs, and lack of historical knowledge, she could very well indeed make a decision dealing with international affairs that could lead to a world-wide disaster.

I am not joking.

As I said, I doubt it. However, let's hope we won't have to find out you were right someday in the future :)

I'm conflicted between the comedic potential of a Sarah Palin run, and my enormous disdain for the woman. And there's also the chance, however small, that through some freak occurance this ******* insane woman might actually become president.
A bit off topic, but hopefully the entertainment value will redeem me.

She wrote notes on her hand and peeked at them several times during an interview. Why not just use note cards?
Real Americans don't need no fancy cards or other teleprompters.

Oh, that's just a happy coincidence. I'm personally hoping for the candidate with the most comedic potential. Since Glenn Beck isn't likely to run, Palin is my biggest hope.

Filed under, leaving the door open.
Asked on Fox News Sunday "why wouldn't you run for President," Palin said, "I would. I would if I believed that that is the right thing to do for our country and for the Palin family. Certainly, I would do so."
Filed under, you just can't make this stuff up.
WALLACE: Would you say you're more knowledgeable about domestic and foreign affairs now than you were two years ago?

PALIN: Well, I would hope so.

Edit: I know how Palin's second response can be interpreted quite innocently and her answer may well be understandable. None the less, I had to smile and couldn't help but see Tina Fey saying that line.

I don't want Palin to run for 2 reasons:

#1. she is a moron, she does not have the sophistication nor the knowledge to lead a nation the size and importance, as the USA.

#2. her campaign will become a laughing stock. her debates with Obama will become a circus. Obama won't have to run on his record...he could win by simply saying "I am not Sarah Palin". we really don't need such a side-show in the USA.
