In this thread your main theme is "Dawkins is a colossal arse, an abrasive self-aggrandizing ******* and a ******,**********,**********".
No, my "main theme" is that Dawkins is hypocritically and erroneously accusing liberals of enabling the oppression of women in the Muslim world, when it's liberals and Muslims themselves that are the ones doing all the actual work of combatting that oppression, while he himself has done nothing at all to help. You know, just like I said back in
this post.
Strangely, nobody seems to want to talk about that, instead ignoring it completely in favor of concentrating on how I'm such a big meaniepants for saying such mean things about
Hazrat Richard Dawkins (peace be upon him).
While the "You can't criticize Islam because other religions are worse.", theme song plays in the background.
I don't think other religions are worse. I think they're all about the same, and have explicitly said so a number of times here.
ETA:I'd think the fact that people are being killed for criticizing Islam would bother you whether or not they were members of this forum,
People being killed for their speech of any sort for
any reason bothers me, and I am extremely glad that Bouyeri was caught, convicted, and is currently rotting in prison. I don't, however, see the need for forum members to pretend to be potential martyrs for free speech putting their lives on the line by bravely making **** posts about Islam on JREF.
Which implies that you've known some that do.
Some Muslims are instantly identifiable as such by the way that they dress.
Yes, and? Why should we describe all Muslims by what some Muslims dress and look like? Would you say that you can identify Texans by the they dress, because
some of them wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats?
The same is true of various other faiths and specific sects.
Sikhs, the Amish and Hasidic Jews would be the most obvious examples.
I note that you apparently have no problem talking about how Muslims (with no adjective) look and dress, but feel the need to specify
Amish Christians and
Hasidic Jews.
