Merged Psychological conditions are illusory

I think I am about to drown in a depth of passive aggression rarely seen. Of course, if you suggest something alternative to accepted scientific "dogma" you might get banned, not because of seething passive aggressive hostility and snide remarks.

Step 1;Fail is caused by fail.

Step 2;I'll respell fail as OP.

Step 3;The OP is caused by fail.

Step 4;Fail is caused by chemical malfeasance of the brainpan

Step 5;The OP is suffering from a bad case of fail.

Step 6;The OP needs medicated with new 'Nofailazine' from Mercc. Ask your doctor about Nofailazine (dontsuckonlineolol HCl).

Step 7; Profit!

Dyslexia is not the topic, it's an example of a misspelling of "reading difficulty".

Or you can mispell "reserved" as a-u-t-i-s-m.

Or you can mispell "poor attendance" as A-D-H-D.

Or you can mispell "reserved" as twinkleribblesplitter. Twinkleribblesplitter is the cause of being reserved you know. Well, it could be sold like that. That's my point.

They are all misspellings.

I wonder what you were diagnosed with that seems to have scarred you so badly?

Exactly.

And, by the way, how should we diagnose someone who repeatedly misspells "misspell"?

I've applied my intuition to what Jonesboy is saying--because, you know, reason is a construct of the patriarchy--and I've figured out for sure what he's saying. He's saying that all U.S. courts are admiralty courts. Yeah, to get there, you have to realize that he's misspelled a whole bunch of words. For instance, "respect" actually is a misspelling of "birth bond." If it looks like he's denying it, it's probably a misspelling of "Queen Elizabeth is a lizard person." I may not be able to supply further spelling corrections here, as I have to take my mumraths for a walk. Sorry.

I spot your problem: you've lost an "s" along the way. Thus it should be spelled "send ass," which as we all know is a cure for sadness. All fixed!

So would that mean the OP is half-essed?

eta: Oops, my mistake, there are three "s"s in sadness, so that would make the OP one-third essed, which is not nearly as funny so I'm ignoring the whole thing. :D

Don't underestimate how sad the loss of an "s" can render one. For example, consider what would happen if you lost your "esses" on the way to bed for a fast shag -- sadness indeed!

You can turn any experience into a medical condition.
You can even turn a whole person into a medical condition, for a laugh.
And if you can, it'll make money in the way I described. That's a power of medicine.

No sadness is an emotion. You're confusing that with depression which has specific diagnostic criteria. It's those criteria that differentiate it from sadness. Those criteria include, among other things loss of interest in things that bring pleasure, sleep difficulty, withdraw from friends and a few other things. This differentiates sadness and depression. Sadness is an emotion depression is an illness. Obviously we should treat the people with this illness since given the binary choice we can obviously favor one state over the other.

Autism and modern eugenics

Autism is a recent invention, one of the many symptoms heralding the recent rise to power of The Clinic and its rebranded eugenics, following their disastrous association with war-time eugenics programs in the industrial west.

The autist is shadowed by his own eugenic image. One critical difference between modern eugenics and the old, rejected eugenics, is that the modern Clinic asserts that the eugenic image is within reach for those who do not match its parameters for true personhood. And help is offered to achieve measured steps toward this unreachable target.

Today, our New Clinic considers autistic people not so much as persons but as more or less ambulatory clinical conditions. Having a clinical condition for an identity puts them beyond the help of their god and beyond the understanding of mum and dad. Their personality is foremost a description of their brain. Who, what, they really are, only the doctor is said to know.

Alone among others who have also had the blight of the perfect eugenic image shadowing their lives (we can think of aspergers, ADHD etc in this regard), the clinic's autist is affected by his brain, he suffers from his brain, whether he is happy or not. The rest of us...the rest of us might be affected by our brain - but with one crucial difference, we declare: brain differences are their differences, not ours; behavioural differences are their differences, not ours.

The clinic's autist is encouraged to reach the clean eugenic image that is believed to shadow him. If he is not assertive his holidays can become therapies, his associates helpers, his home-life can become a tick-box activity of tasks achieved. Medicated for achievement, he is the permanent patient, if not in practice then by deed-poll. For the feisty and independent, denying the clinical shadow can meet life-long resistance from a public and Clinic who's help is often conditional upon accepting their labels.

I think you have yet to show who says that they are suffering, some difficulty with verbal and non-verbal communication.

But you just make this **** up, don't you.

No evidence, no data.

Autism is a recent invention,

So, Autism wasn't what the problem was back in the middle ages, i.e. the "touched by the fey" kids who were identical in behavior, you mean?

Sorry, the quote above is patent, gabbling nonsense, and is exactly opposite the truth of the matter.

Misinformation does not help your cause, whatever that is.

Jonesboy, when you say 'New Clinic', which specific people are you referring to?

'Them' of course.

In fact, having read most of jonesboy's OP's I'm guessing 'them' constitutes anyone anywhere anywhen that does not agree with his flashes of brilliant insight.
Including, but not limited to, every scientist in the world, every medical practicioner in the world, everyone on this forum, every politician, everyone involved in some way with the financial market, those damn kids cutting in the line every time, etc.
In other words, the vast majority of mankind, out on some horrible conspiracy to exclude him.

On to the OP, has it ever occurred to you jonesboy that maybe things like autism have always existed, but were lumped under different names in the past? (ie possessed by demons, insane, seer, etc). And that as we progress in our knowledge we are better able to separate the various disorders people may have that used to be just pooled together and treated by locking the afflicted up in some room till they died?
