PS Audio Noise Harvester

Recording isn't the same as playback because the computer doesn't have ears..

No, but playback is the final goal. If you don't have an accurate recording to play back, what good is your stereo? You want great playback? Try an Alesis Masterlink, Benchmark DAC-1 and a pair of Genelec 1032A's. Now THAT is a playback system. Mastering studios have the highest requirements for playback systems, but I have yet to see any PS Audio gear in them. How come this stuff isn't on the list at Gateway Mastering? Lemme guess, because Bob Ludwig doesn't know his @$$ from his elbow as far as good sound, right?

I spent my life savings because I wanted to find the truth about audio. I have been a skeptic my whole life, but when I tried things for myself I realized all those years as a skeptic was a waste, I didn't know anything just by looking at the surface, it all had to be experienced.

Sounds like you were not much of a skeptic. You see, skeptics DO try things for themselves. That's the difference. We investigate to ensure that claims are legitimate. It's not a matter of denying claims, but rather of validating them. Unlike you who are satisfied with seeing a claim and simply accepting it as truth, regardless of logic and evidence to the contrary.

What I found was the truth, and the skeptics are just jealous.

Yup, you got us. We're all jealous because you spent your money on scam products.

That's okay, his life savings from his paper route probably wasn't much anyway.

I have Benchmark DAC1. The stock DAC1 doesn't sound as good as a stock high-end player. But if you tweak the DAC1 it sounds better than the high-end player, even if the high-end player has the same tweaks. I have $$$$$ gear collecting dust because I get better sound from something cheaper.

EMI, AC noise and resonance are the reason for DAC1's brightness problems, fix the problems and everything gets smoother with more low-level detail and bass. Try to isolate the Toroid from the chassis and you will hear new worlds of low-level detail.

You aren't trying it by yourself if you are investigating claims by others.
I don't accept anything as the truth. Logic and evidence mean nothing to me because I'm not biased, but apparently you are.

How can you know they are scam if you haven't tried them? The skeptic's way to deal with jealousy is to make himself believe it's a scam.

Logic and evidence has nothing to do with bias. In fact, bias is the enemy of logic and evidence. And if you claim to not be biased, and you're not going off of evidence or logic, then they're making statements for no reason and based on nothing. You make no sense.

I highly suggest you sell one or two of these overpriced blinking LEDs and take a community college course in debate or intro to logic.

I never had a job because the repetitive behaviour makes people brainwashed. They stop using their own mind to deal with the nightmare of having a job. They make themselves believe in meaningless things to handle the horror... The more time that goes by the worse the illness becomes, eventually they have their own house and family, and the virus keeps spreading into the next generation (there is no evolution if there is no virus that keeps it going). All the humans are programmed plants that keep growing and reproducing. Then they share their flawed knowledge to their children...

The difference between me and you is that I don't have the virus because I was a skeptic since I was born. The wannabee skeptics became skeptics after they were scammed or something else happened. So they have built the "fountain" of flawed knowledge above it.

You and Paris Hilton, right, and boy if you don't sound like her too.

I'm sure you get plenty of tail showing off your toys in your parent's basement.

Run along, little boy.

I think that pretty well clinches it, ES is just having a little fun tweaking the adults to get a reaction from them.

There is no way ES can possibly believe all the nonsense (s)he's been spouting here. You just have to read the self-contradictory statements it has made, note the huge amounts of irony in its comments.

Troll? Wannabe comedian? Is all that irony deliberate?

One last question ES - as you've never had a job, just how much did your life savings total ... 50p and a big orange?

Thanks for the laughs though, but I hope for your sake you haven't been serious here!

That's such a beautifully self-contradictory sentence, I may have to use it in my signature.
If you don't contradict yourself you are narrow-minded.

Logic and evidence has nothing to do with bias. In fact, bias is the enemy of logic and evidence. And if you claim to not be biased, and you're not going off of evidence or logic, then they're making statements for no reason and based on nothing. You make no sense.

If you think the logic and evidence are true, then you are biased. Incomplete logic is still flawed logic.
The problem with skeptic trolls is that they look at something incomplete and think it is the truth, then they don't investigate any further because they think they already know everything.

I'm checking in once again during my lunch break and I thought I'd throw ES a bone (more or less). In an unregulated linear power supply, increased current draw does increase the amount of power supply ripple. In fact, the amount of current ripple at the rated output of the supply is part of the design equations for such a supply.

I don't know if the switching supplies in a computer react the same way, though. Increased current draw increases the duty cycle of power supply, which actually makes the DC output easier to filter.

Also, underclocking a computer reduces its power draw, so maybe ES believes underclocking reduces power supply ripple. However, a computer runs off the 5V (or 3.3V) bus in a computer while the analog outputs on your soundcard use the 12V line. In other words, your computer already contains seperate power supplies so wiring up more power supplies to your computer isn't going to help a whole lot

I suspect ES read something about current draw affecting power supply ripple and that's why he's saying what he's saying. Of course, if he understood all of this he would have mentioned it earlier. Instead, he takes the classsic "if you don't already know, you're too stupid to understand my explanation" approach, a dodge used by people who don't really know what they're talking about.

What irony? Everything I have said have been true. In the future people will go back to this thread and see I was right from the beginning, and then they will believe everything I say, because it will be the truth. Then the people vote me as president of the world, they will transfer my consciousness into an AI machine that is orbiting the Earth, from there I will receive all the human thoughts from chips inplanted into everyone's brains. Then I will add all the information together so I can try to understand the big picture. The best way to truth is to experience everything all at once. People who are biased can't take in too much information at once because they are cherry picking like narrow-minded skeptics. I don't cherry pick, I look at the information without being biased from the past. I don't live in the past like the wannabee skeptics do. I'm the one who is supposed to do it. I have placed a piece of my hair inside my amplifier so they can clone me in the future.

In 200 years I will be orbiting the Earth (mark this post!), I have it all planned out. I can't reveal too much because the evil skeptic trolls will try to prevent it from happening. That's why I'm posting in this thread, I'm studying the skeptics so I can prepare for the great battle between believers vs skeptics. The believers will win, not because I can see into the future, but because truth always wins in the end.

I am sooooo tempted to nominate this! Excellent humor.

ES, I've adapted some UK soccer chants just for you -

"Are you Pillory in disguise?"
"You're not funny any more"
"Where were you when you were sane?"

(That last one is just a joke, okay. Poor taste probably, but just a joke).

I don't use analog outputs of soundcard, I use digital output.

They infect the power supply even if they use different lines. Nothing is perfect.

I haven't read anything about it. Half a year ago I added more harddrives into my computer and posted in a forum that it sounded edgy, but they laughed and said it didn't matter. So I didn't believe it. But later when my system was more revealing I heard it clearer than ever before. It gave me a reason to experiment with it and there is no doubt that everything I heard was true. I learned to write everything down into my logs no matter how silly they are.

I accidentally found that ambient temperature matters too, so I have started writing down the temperature into my logs. There are probably many more variables that I don't know about.
