Priebus out...

I know better than to expect the GOP to grow a spine for the country, but can they even do it for their own party? That's the last senior RNC/establishment guy in the White House. The GOP just lost the White House without an election happening.

If Pence isn't making and receiving a flurry of phone calls today, then the Republicans may as well close up shop.

I have this scene in my head where Gen. Kelly is unpacking his things into the CoS office, an assistant pops in and asks if he needs anything. He says it'd be great if you could print off a copy of the flow-chart so he can get an idea of the chain of command around here. Assistant stares blankly back at him for a second and then starts laughing.

ETA: Assistant walks over to whiteboard, writes "PRESIDENT" with a circle around it, then proceeds to list all other positions with a line linking back to this. "There's your flow-chart, there's some dashed-line connections, too, but they change every few hours or so. Good luck!"

Phone calls for what?

Ya, I can't imagine a career military man liking that environment. Especially since his #1 job is probably to find all the leaks. And he'll be blamed when they do happen (and they will) because he's a "deep state enemy".

And I give Kelly about five months. IMHO the total chaos and insanity he is walking into is something his career as a Marine has not prepared him for.

Partcularly when Kelly realizes that the source and main cause of the crazy chaos is the POTUS.

Per Chuck Todd, Priebus resigned yesterday.

And that is an interesing data point.
Everybody was watching Priebus very closely - expecting some move by some side any time.
Then he resigned yesterday.
And the first hint anybody got was realdonaldtrum tweeting.

In between, Kelly has been interviewed - etc.

And all of this without a further leak - and Trump's tweets were actually relatively stately and measured, in comparison.

Just who organized this communication feat?? ;)

Yeah. In theory, the chief of staff's job (and it certainly applies in the military) is to reduce/eliminate chaos in the unit so that the commander doesn't have to deal with it. If the chaos comes from above, or if the commander encourages chaos from subordinates, there's really nothing the chief of staff can do about it.

He'll have to fire Mooch before I think he's anything but another retarded sycophant.
A chief of staff firing a department head without obtaining approval from the occupant of the Oval Office wouldn't last long at all.
