Presidential Primaries 2012

A supporter of Rick Perry has caused an uproar by attacking Romney's religion at the so-called "Values Voters Summit."
Santorum's response is downright hilarious. If it was a joke I give him two thumbs up:
Santorum said:
I'm not an expert on Mormonism, but every Mormon I know is a good and decent person ... by and large, except for Harry Reid

I hope that this is just a typo by Fox:
"I believe that they believe they're Christians," Cain said of Mormons. He added that the candidates are running to be "theologian-in-chief."

Presumably that should read "the candidates are not running to be "theologian-in-chief.""

Flavor of the month.

Just ask him a question where he agrees with the independents and the right will kick him aside.

"Have a heart." Bye Perry.

I noticed that yesterday R. Giuliani announced to the 1 or 2 people who still care that he won't be running for president. He said that he's too moderate to be nominated by today's GOP. He forgot to mention that he's also too unlikable.

Romney: 59.0% +11.5%
Perry: 19.8% +1.4%
Cain: 8.2% +2.9%
Huntsman: 3.7% -0.2%
Paul: 2.4% -0.1%

Just wanted to get an update before the debate. Is this Cain's high-water mark? Is he past it already? We'll see.

Romney: 66.3% +7.3%
Perry: 14.3% -5.5%
Cain: 8.5% +0.3%
Huntsman: 3.0% -0.7%
Paul: 2.8% +1.4%
Gingrich: :2.5 +1.6%

Punters still seem to be piling on the Romney bandwagon, despite Cain's recent run of favorable poll numbers.

The Republican non-insane rump-establishment are beside themselves with embarrassment at the presidential field this cycle, and at the Teapublican base of lizard-brained goons cheering the idea of the death of the uninsured ill. Cain's 9-9-9 looks like the last straw. From the National JournalReview to Joe Scarborough, they're freaking out at the amateurism and unseriousness of this flavor of the month contender. They're pushing for all the ducks to come home to Romney. The Republican brand is under attack from within.

Great debates in Vegas, eh? (Says the unapologetic liberal.) Perry decided to show his tough side rather than his befuddled side, Cain had to defend his 9-9-9 nonsense, Romney's got to run away from his health plan, and Li'l Ricky Santorum got to be the well-leashed pitbull that he is, probably scoring a couple of points (at Perry's expense, I'm guessing).

When the voice of reason has to be old Go For the Jugular Newt, you know you've had a good night!

I wonder if Huntsman's no-show means he's going to quit.

Nevada GOP is trying to move their caucus up the calendar to beat New Hampshire. Huntsman threatened to not campaign there if they didn't stop that.

Frothy Mix has proposed defunding all contraception. Because sexytimes are for procreation only.

By the way, earlier in this thread I predicted Romney would lost to Perry. I take it all back. Romney ate Perry's lunch last night. Perry is surprisingly weak at this stuff. Wow. I'd now be shocked if Perry was the nominee.

I still can't imagine Romney getting nominated by this party between "Mormon" and "Romneycare funded abortions". And yet none of these other idiots seem to be willing to be palatable for more than a week at a time.
