Pre-TAM get together? (In NY)

Ok, so who knows a good pizza joint and a nice pub type place with a dance floor in NYC where a bunch of wild sceptics can cut loose?

Ex, what time will you and Rebecca be arriving from Boston Fri night?

First suggestion of where to eat and drink wins.

Boo

There's a Patsy's on 23rd st. and 8th ave. (318 w. 23rd st) and one on 67 University Place. The pizza is excellent and the pasta is served family style (huge portions for sharing). And they have beer. The one on 23rd st. is bigger so it may be quicker to get a table for a large group.

Plenty of bars within walking distance from either one.

Anyway, that's my suggestion.

Starting Friday at 6pm, with folks waiting until everyone shows up. And then..whatever. Cell phone numbers should circulate.

NYC Atheist Meetup is hosting a private guided tour of the Darwin exhibit at the Natural History Museum on Sat at 1PM for $23... Just show up, it should be interesting.

We're meeting at the one in Chelsea, bottom left column.

6:00

I'll try to be there right at 6, but I have to go meet someone at the train station.

One of the reviews said "Attractive but unprofessional waitresses..."

The Darwin tour sounds pretty good..though I wonder what I'll do with my luggage..(coming off a week long trip).

I have phone numbers for JamesDillon, HarryKeogh, Kookbreaker, Boo, MWare and Guliamo.

I look like my avatar. I won't be wearing a dress.

That's a very good question. And I hadn't realised that the bus to and from Boston actually needs four and a half hours to make the trip, so if I (we?) want to get to New York at a reasonable hour (at least before 8 PM preferably sooner), we'd have to leave during the afternoon (before 3:00 PM), which might not be an option for rebecca, who may have to work.

I'll keep you posted with the exact time.
Apparently, rebecca's boss has said she can get Friday afternoon off, so we will both be there for the NYC JREF meeting :)
I assume we'll be arriving any time between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. We'll call Jeff when we know the exact time and place.

that's a misquote. It should read "Great service but inedible food"

actually I've been there a number of times. Never had a bad experience.

here's their address and phone318 West 23rd St (I believe it's between 8th avenue and 9th avenue) (646) 486-7400 It's a quick cab ride from Penn station.

So I will see you guys at 6:00. There's a bar on the left side as soon as you walk in. Let's meet up there.

Man, I posted the wrong address. I've edited the posts with the wrong address. The correct address is: [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

Can't make it Friday evening, but I will be in the city on Saturday, down in Village and Soho most likely, can't make Darwin tour, rats and mice, have to get my hair cut. If anyone wants to bop about Saturday afternoon down in the Village or Soho, give me a shout, otherwise I will probably go see a movie at the Angelika.

I think as a nice surprise we should each buy rebecca a beer, or a whiskey (neat) maybe depending on her mood.

This is Exarch. I like live action role playing (and I live in Belgium).

Imposter!

This is Larry.

Larry Barrieau.

I live in the woods in a house I built myself.

I think that anyone who doesn't buy Rebecca a Bushmill's is a sad loser. And to futher prove you're not a loser, you should offer her your room for a night so she can choose the best one. A suite would be sweet.

And a sure ticket out of Loserville is if you're studly too.

Just saying.

Woods.

Exarch and Larry sure are nice guys to be thinking of Rebecca that way. I think we should do as they say and buy Rebecca a drink on Friday.

Okay, a turning-upside-down of plans means that I will hop on a bus to Boston as soon as I land in New York, then come back on Friday for the party, possibly bringing rebecca along if she can find a place to crash in NY (that's as good a hint as any I think).
Gesh! Exarch was coming to Boston and nobody invited me? Now I definately have to go sit in the corner and pout. :(
