Poker Tournament at TAM4???

Goofy hats, loud shirts, wild jewellery, crazy sunglasses, 'lucky' charms etc... are all highly encouraged.

2100h = 9:00 p.m., right? I look forward to seeing everyone there!

OK, just reread the thread and here's what I have for players:

1. Antique Hunter
2. Dunstan
3. Hutch
4. citytom
5. troylus
6. Stimpson J. Cat
7. Rebecca
8. Mlynn
9. Joshua Korsoi
10. Triangle Man
11. exarch
12. rikzilla

Maybe's
1. Bad Astronomer
2. Phil
3. RS Lancaster
4. Cave Dweller

Figuring 9-10 players a table we need between 2-6 more players to fill out the two planned tables. Any other gamblers in the crowd?

exarch is betting on rebecca to win. I rather think antique hunter or citytom will take it, but just like in the World Series, somebody with little experience will get the right run of cards and...

And also--watch out for Mlynn--don't let that nice Christian lady guise fool ya, she's out for your blood!! ;) :D

Heheheheheheh....yeah, right - we'll see who goes to the "loser's lounge" first.

Excellent to see we have so much interest. I'm pretty confident that we'll be able to fill any last minute vacancies with an announcement or two at the cash bar etc...

"I would also be interested in hearing from someone who wants to contribute a suitable silly trophy / memento for the winners." (Antiquehunter)

IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN AWARD YET, I'VE GOT A NICE "POKER CARD GUARD" EMBEDDED IN AN ENCASED PLASTIC SHELL. It's the size of a silver dollar, and bright brass....a nice looking piece. I'll contribute it.

I'll also place a "bounty" on my head. I produced an instructional DVD/VHS on how to perform a colorful collection of poker chip tricks. I'll donate one to the person who knocks me out of the game.

It's my pleasure to add a little spice to the game.

Excellent! Great contribution, and most sporting! I LOVE bounty tourneys.

In the spirit of bounties, and having very few cool gifts at my disposal in Afghanistan...

To the person who knocks me out - beverages of their choice from the Stardust bar (limit total cost to $20 - no $100 a shot cognacs, please) personally delivered to the knocker-outer at the table.

Ok, count us in. 'We' would be Anton and Greg, I'm still working on updating my profile. We were there last year. :D

At least this year we got rooms in time at the Stardust, heh.

This will probably be the last year for TAM at the Stardust!
They're going to demolish it for the next big thing.

On SFGate.com- search for 'Stardust'
From the article: Boyd Gaming Corp. plans to tear down the old Stardust casino to make way for a $4 billion hotel and casino complex on 63 acres on the Las Vegas Strip — one of the largest such developments planned in a town known for megaresorts.

See you at the tables!

-Anton

He doesn't have a login yet, but call him 'Your Hellco Rep', we'll remember.
Brushing up on my hold 'em now... :bricks: :train  <--- that'll be us after a couple deals :D

I'm totally in on this. I just wish I had suggested it first.

Wow - this is shaping up to be terrific!

I'm in contact with Pete DeMonte at the Stardust poker room, and am awaiting final confirmation of our setup. I've asked to accomodate up to three tables (27 players) given popularity, but I'm not sure if we'll get it. In any event - I think we need to move to establishing a player list in case we oversell. I think its fair that forum members get the seats in the order in which they responded to the thread. If we have any vacant seats, we'll open 'em up to TAM4 attendees who aren't active on the forum. Since Hutch has been doing a great job maintaining lists, I'll ask him to post a revised 'who is in' list. If we sell out TAM4 at 600 attendees, and only 100 of them are from the forum (round numbers) there are probably more folks who will want to jump in on the game at the last minute - and I don't want the forum members left out since you've all expressed interest.

Getting excited...

As AntiqueHunter requested, this is the poker playing list I have to date:

1. Antique Hunter
2. Dunstan
3. Hutch
4. CityTom
5. Troylus
6. Stimpson J. Cat
7. Rebecca
8. MLynn
9. Joshua Korsoi
10. Triangle Man
11. exarch
12. Rikzilla
13. The Bad Astronomer
14. Phil
15. Paul C. Anagnostopoulos
16. Xargs
17. Greg the Unregistered
18. Aofl

That should give us two full tables of 9 each, so the nominations are still open for a potential third table or stand-bys if someone from the above list cannot make it.

Goofy hats, loud shirts, wild jewellery, crazy sunglasses, 'lucky' charms etc... are all highly encouraged.

That'll be weird eh? A roomful of skeptics clutching "lucky" items!?
:dl:

I feel rather disadvantaged since I only have one charm I could possibly consider "lucky". I purchased a Washington Redskins hat because a friend gave me tickets to the Charger's game. The 'skins lost that game but promptly went on a 5 game winning streak and are now in the playoffs! Anywhoo..if the 'skins are still alive come TAM time you can be sure I'll be wearing the charmed chapeau! ;)
If they get ousted I'll have to think of something else. As for a bounty on my head? I'm not sure I'd like to encourage something that's bound to happen too fast anyway! Perhaps I'll offer my "How to play hold'em" book as a prize? :) Well,...I'll try and think of something good just to remain in the spirit of the thing.

PS: This is a question I've dreaded asking...but how much of a bankroll am I gonna need to hang with you guys??? The more I read about hold 'em the more I think I'm gonna be folding and checking...alot!

IIRC, it's a $25.00 buy-in, but I'll let Antique Hunter give you the Straight Dope.
