Planned Parenthood Racism Investigation

Do the motivations of various groups exposing the genocide of BLACKS preformed by Planned Parenthood change the facts?

Sorry, there you go again. Which facts are you referring to? The BLACKgenocide site refers to very few facts, mostly opinions. linusrichard has addressed the few figures that you quoted as being inadequate by themselves to prove the case.

You have produced nothing to prove that eugenics is being promoted today, regardless of what the founder of the organisation believed. Eugenics was a very widely held belief at the time. There is a comparable organisation founded in the UK, Marie Stopes International, also founded by a eugenicist. That is not an organisation which promotes eugenics today, either. Why do you have trouble understanding that organisations can change?

Quotes from Sanger. The statistics which show a disproportioned rate of black being "helped".

The burden of proof would be on those that state the organization has changed it's purpose.

The results are in-line with it's original intent. This is just coincidence?

Your questions would be relevant if Planned Parenthood was founded to provide abortions to those in need.

It was founded to cull the undesirables from the population. Why do you ignore this fact?

Why do you ignore the facts that:
  • it was not founded to do this
  • eugenics was not the only reason that Margaret Sanger, who didn't found the organisation, but did lead it in the early days, promoted birth control
  • although a believer in eugenics, Sanger was not a racist, and had the approval of Martin Luther King
  • from 1978 to 1992 the president of Planned Parenthood was African American, sorry, BLACK
  • Planned Parenthood does not promote eugenics today
?

Please provide evidence for each of these assertions.

Because it's not relevant. (And because I'm not convinced it's true.)

Even if PP was founded for this nefarious purpose, that doesn't remain its mission to this day. Why do you ignore this fact?

Please provide evidence for each of these assertions.

* it was not founded to do this
The National Birth Control League was founded in March 1915 by Mary Dennett, Clara Gruening Stillman and Jessie Ashley. Its main purpose was to overturn the laws which banned contraceptives from the U.S. mails.
* eugenics was not the only reason that Margaret Sanger, who didn't found the organisation, but did lead it in the early days, promoted birth control
Planned Parenthood began as the National Birth Control League, which was founded in 1916* under the leadership of Mary Dennett. The organization was later renamed the American Birth Control League under the direction of Margaret Sanger.
At its founding, the ABCL announced the following purposes:
  • To enlighten and educate all sections of the American public in the various aspects of the dangers of uncontrolled procreation and the imperative necessity of a world programme of birth control.
  • To correlate the findings of scientists, statisticians, investigators, and social agencies in all fields.
  • To organize and conduct clinics where the medical profession may give to mothers and potential mothers harmless, reliable methods of birth control.
  • To enlist the support and coöperation of legal advisors, statesmen, and legislators in effecting the removal of State and Federal statutes which encourage dysgenic breeding.

* although a believer in eugenics, Sanger was not a racist, and had the approval of Martin Luther King

Despite allegations of racism, Sanger's work with minorities earned the respect of civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr.[23] In their biographical article about Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood notes:

In 1930, Sanger opened a family planning clinic in Harlem that sought to enlist support for contraceptive use and to bring the benefits of family planning to women who were denied access to their city's health and social services. Staffed by a black physician and black social worker, the clinic was endorsed by The Amsterdam News (the powerful local newspaper), the Abyssinian Baptist Church, the Urban League, and the black community's elder statesman, W.E.B. DuBois.
I will concede that Sanger appears to have had some racist views (again, fairly common for the times (1920s)).

* from 1978 to 1992 the president of Planned Parenthood was African American, sorry, BLACK
Faye Wattleton was president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America from 1978 to 1992. She was the youngest person and first African American appointed to that position in the organization's history, and the second woman to hold the office

* Planned Parenthood does not promote eugenics today

That one's for you to prove false.

* Yes, there appears to be a discrepancy over the date.

A publicly edited encyclopedia is not a valid source.

What I presented was researchable quotes. You presented anonymous opinion.

Are you honestly saying that all articles in research journals should be written anonymously in order to prevent people from guessing whether the writer is black? Please provide evidence.

I'm still not seeing how anything Planned Parenthood is doing is hurting the African American community. Are you going to present some evidence of harm at some point, Jerome, or is bashing the long dead Sanger all you are going to do?

Planned Parenthood agrees with your assertion that the culling of BLACKS is a help.

Again you make this assertion and again you provide nothing to substantiate it. Are you just hoping that saying it enough times will make it true?

What makes you think that the organization has strayed from the original purpose when the current results are in concert with the original purpose?
