Planned Parenthood Aids Pimp's Underage Sex Ring

A more accurate title would perhaps be

Anti-choice group attempts to ignite public support for defunding of Planned Parenthood through edited video of an employee "aiding" a fake pimp's underage sex ring

but it just doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well.

I wonder if running underage sex ring is one of your natural rights.

I agree with this. She technically violated her duties, but she did so to help someone who was presented to her as being deeply troubled. She wasn't trying to make a quick buck or get away with anything that could personally benefit her, she was trying to figure out how to aid someone who (if the fiction was true) had already been deeply neglected by the system.

This is the new Dumbest Thing Ever (TM) from the Right.
And, trust me, the right (which is very, very wrong) will always find a new DTE and the time between them seems to be getting shorter.:jaw-dropp:mad::jaw-dropp:mad::jaw-dropp:mad:

who exactly was in the wrong here?

1) The person who committed NO crime and merely lied to a PPH employee misrepresenting who he was.

2) Or the PPH employee who instructed the "pimp" to lie about the young girl's ages and who looked the other way though she KNEW exactly what was going on?

I report...you decide!

btw, the answer is #2

And yes, I am pro-choice...that makes no difference in this story.

I know and it's quite amusing that they did...

It would be as if, Chris Hanson was running his Dateline "To Catch A Predator" sting...with fake underage actors playing a part, and catching the perverts breaking the law...and then the pervert (Planned Parenthood in this case) reported Chris Hanson to the FBI!

*facepalm*

PPH got caught...they know they did...and they admitted it.

What should they have done?

Actually, Planned Parenthood reported. But you are deciding that they didn't.

So she should have antagonized the "pimp" and risked not getting the girls into PP? If the pimp thinks she's on his side, he is more likely to bring the girls in for treatment. PP's job is to provide needed medical treatment for anyone. Part of that is making anyone who comes in feel safe. She may come across as overly helpful but even if the tape wasn't edited, we have no back-story. Maybe she was worried that every other place would send him away and the girls would get no help at all.

She couldn't have called the police because of confidentiality laws. That visit was reported to he FBI and even then, they couldn't give a description or name.

In any case, this anti-choice group filmed 11 clinics and got lucky. They are only promoting the one that even PP has a problem with, not the other 10 which had a less-dramatic outcome.

I think that's what the rest of the thread has agreed with.
The employee screwed up, but not PP.

On the other hand, the employee informed the "pimp" and "prostitute" of their legal recourse regarding privacy and so on. She told them what PP could and could not do, and so on. I'm not really sure how anyone could think this is a takedown of the organization as a whole.

You partially report, leaving out (or fudging) facts you find inconvenient.

Actually, the correct answer is #3) Planned Parenthood for informing the FBI.

Odd, how you keep ignoring that part.

And yes, I am pro-choice...that makes no difference in this story.

Apparently, the actual facts in this story don't make a difference to you, either.

um...I already said I knew that way back in this post

So it's okay to lie like this in a planned & organized attempt to smear an entire organization? Wow, quite the moral high-ground you've got there.

So it was the employee's wrongdoing and not that of Planned Parenthood? Good. We are in agreement.

Nice to see that you're leaving out the pesky little detail that PP reported the situation to the FBI.

And yes, I am pro-choice...that makes no difference in this story.

If the Federal Government would stop funding religions by giving them tax exempt status there might be a lot less funding for these kind of wingnut religious groups. If they had to spend their money paying their fair share like everyone else, they wouldn't have extra money to scam legitimate groups like Planned Parenthood.

Dateline and "To Catch A Predator" lied to catch criminal acts

Just recently Mayor Boomberg sent investigators to AZ to lie at a gun show while purchasing fire arms.

So it was the employee's wrongdoing and not that of Planned Parenthood? Good. We are in agreement.

possibly, although she did seem very nonchalant about it, as if it happened all the time.

I'd say the person that was wrong was the one that is producing heavily edited videos to market false images and false facts about legitimate groups and people who have been assisting the poor. If O'Keefe was so concerned about the underage prostitutes, why attack one of their few sources of health care?

Perhaps he's one of those judgemental scumbags that is against STD treatment because he views STDs as God's legitimate punishment for sin.

NBC doesn't then say "Criminal probe reveals middle-aged white men are pedophiles".

See the difference?

Just recently Mayor Boomberg sent investigators to AZ to lie at a gun show while purchasing fire arms.

Mayor Bloomberg doesn't then say "Criminal probe reveals gun dealers are criminals".

See the difference?
