Pence Vs Harris

"She was terrible. She was, I don't think you could get worse, and totally unlikable. And she is, she's a communist. And this monster that was on stage with Mike Pence was terrible."

- Guess who

A free thinking political independent who totally doesn't have MAGA-logoed handgrips on his ankles?

I have to imagine that the Cov-jefe was screaming at the TV when he saw the fly stay on his boy's head for two-plus minutes.

Mike! Mike! Please notice that fly on your head! It makes you look weak!!

...she's a communist...

This is where American politics is completely unhinged - Biden, Pelosi and Harris are Communists.

I blame the US education system, because anyone with a milligram of historical knowledge would be laughing at the idea.

And Biden's description of it is far more nuanced than "I want to end fracking." He has made it clear that he is all in favor of phasing it out, but that it needs to be done thoughtfully while developing alternatives.

I mean, how awful of him, right?

I would like to hear any rational criticism of that. Is there any case to be made that we shouldn't be trying to move ourselves beyond fracking? Irrespective of the damage that it does, it's not in infinite supply.

Why shouldn't our goal to be to end fracking? To end fracking, what you need is a viable alternative. That sounds like a great thing. Just imagine if we had a viable renewable energy resource, such that we wouldn't need fracking, or oil or coal?

I'm 100% for ending fracking.

The question is not "Should we end fracking" but "What do we need to do to end fracking"

To be sure. But the right has a long history of calling non-laissez faire capitalist Democrats socialists, from FDR moving forward to Obama (the right even tried to pin the "fascist" label on Obama as well as the socialist and communist designations). Looks like they are using their warmed over anti-Bernie game plan as well.

So concludes the Washington Examiner:

"Supporters of Kamala Harris were quick to launch accusations of sexism and “mansplaining” against Mike Pence after the vice presidential debate on Wednesday. This is because Harris clearly lost the debate. And it wasn't because of some fabricated sexism from Pence, but because Harris is just a terrible debater and an awful candidate -- something that became clear during the Democratic primaries."

At first I wondered why Harris wasn’t being more aggressive? Was she trying to not look too angry and dominant vs Pence to avoid alienating misogynistic white men in the voting population as Hillary had been accused of?

But then I realized. She was avoiding looking too angry and dominate over Biden to avoid confirming the Trump acquisition that she and other “liberal-radical-socialists” would dominate the relaxed, non-threatening, and mainstream Biden.

Just a theory.

Actually, Harris was pretty much the same in debates during her Senate run in California.
I think it has more to do that she can't drop the style and methods she used as a prosecutor in court.

Overall, we rate the Washington Examiner Right Biased based on editorial positions that almost exclusively favor the right and Mixed for factual reporting due to several failed fact checks.

Harris looked slow and inhibited.

Not a great look.

Unfortunately it's required of women under the national spotlight, as to be less-inhibited and more energetic is to be "emotional" in a negatively-connotated way, which is a worse look. Basically, there is no possible "great look" for women.

Any woman who has had to put up with being talked over top of by men at a meeting, or having their opinions not listened to, or whose ideas and thoughts have been summarily dismissed, will immediately relate to what Pence did in this debate... and they won't like it.

Kamala Harris' years as a very effective prosecutor gave her the ability to present her case and to very effectively adapt to unexpected changes of direction on the fly. IMO, she clearly came out on top in that debate.

I think Harris sounds good in some settings like a Senate hearing.

But in a back and forth firefight she seems a bit clumsy and inefficient. Kamala Harris actually spoke more than Pence did, despite the interruptions and Pence going off topic. I recall more things Pence said than what Harris said in the 20 minutes I sat and listened to it.
