Happy Nathan Hale Day.
September 21, 1776 - Nathan Hale was captured while sailing Long Island Sound en route to American-controlled territory. He was executed the next day for spying.His last words before being hanged were purported to be "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country".
Today he'd blame Joe Biden.

What's astonishing to me is that I can remember that advert for Jones sewing machines - they were still running it in the 70s!

Jones were the British Singer.
They became part of Brother Industries in 1968 but a Brother machines were sold in to the 89s when they were renamed as Brother.
Brother overlockers and embroidery machines are probably the best you can buy.
When we lived in London Sue worked for Brother at their concession in John Lewis on Oxford Street.
There was one sewing machine department with several concessions. Staff were there to demonstrate the machines.
Jones were a big player in industrial machines and still are under the Brother name.
Jones would also badge their machines up with your own company name if you ordered a hundred or more.
