This is true. My inner obsessive has determined that UKian milk prices in 1921 were around 5d/qt. Though the cartel arrangements in Stroke City lead to the white stuff being 50% more expensive, a shocking (and much protested) 7d/qt. Though a few dairies were selling it as low as 4d/at.
Can we be ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ serious here? Today's real significance is that in the year 69, Otho commited suicide after being defeated by Vitellius’ troops at Bedriacum.
Yes, 'The Year of the Four Emperors' Vitellius didn't last long. Vespasian was declared Emperor by the Eastern legions in July and after most of Vitellius' own legions defected and he lost a battle he tried to abdicate but the Praetorian Guard forced him to remain. After Vespasian's legions entered Rome and defeated Vitallius' forces he was killed by a mob.
He appears as a recurring protagonist in Simon Scarrow's 'Eagles of the Empire' series. Sometimes opposed to the main characters and sometimes on their side but always 'tricky' and looking to increase his power and influence.
That's all stuff from the later bit of Suetonius I gave up on and never read. Honestly, I liked his early stuff but that guy got at least one season too much and it just got silly.
We have the hardest time finding a guy to be Otho in our memorial reenactment of his suicide. Always bitching about our demand for authenticity. There's just no reliable method actors out there anymore.
Come on guys, nobody mentioned armageddon? Rather the Battle of Megido in in 1457BC? How they could actually pinpoint the date to April 16th, I have no idea but they do.
