Obama: Lipstick on a Pig

"Lipstick on a pig?" Now you know how it is; lipstick on a pig is a common expression in politics. But coming at this moment in the campaign it's either intentional or a really foolish boner.

Unbelievable. The Republicans have managed to grab the mantle of political correctness from the Democrats. Once more, common English expressions are actual super secret coded sexism.

:D

Well played.

Thanks.

55 days to go. Can it continue to get dumber? I think we all know the answer to that.

Oh, thank Buddha, only 55 more days...

This is the perfect time for some of Einstein's relativistic time distortion! Now where did I leave my spare black hole...

It's a non issue. However, if McCain uses the word niggerdly or the phrase "call a spade a spade" his campaign will be over.
It's "niggardly", with an "a". I think if he used your spelling in an ad there might be trouble...

eta: note to self, read the whole thread first.

Says here that John McCain used this term against Hillary Clinton, so it would be hypocritical of him to criticize Obama for using the same words.

A Piggish Debate

September 09, 2008 8:42 PM

Last October, asked about Sen. Hillary Clinton's health care plan, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., was blunt.

McCain said Clinton's proposal was “eerily” similar to the ill-fated plan she devised in 1993.

“I think they put some lipstick on a pig,” he said, “but it’s still a pig.”

A common expression, right?

McCain surely wasn't calling Clinton a pig.

how often has niggardly been used in the past 30 years?
Not nearly enough. I'm salivating at the prospect of using the word, though I don't get many chances to call someone stingy. Why? I dunno. You wouldn't think inmates would be the most charitable persons in the world.

Regardless, the next change I get to use it, I'm going to do so. Hopefully in front of a black.

Just one? Why not in front of FAMU's football team?

RedTail- do you mean that the FAMU football team is not literate? Or what? Why would it be important?

Redtail was just being helpful. If RadioactiveMan wants to snidely insult black people, Redtail just gave him the name of a whole group so he doesn't have to go one by one.

There's a difference between saying 'niggardly' and being misinterpreted and crucified and going up to black people and saying " niggardly, ha ha you can't complain because I didn't actually say '******'" as RM is fantasizing about.

Captain Janeway(Hillary) is exile after being overthrown by Lt. Commander Tuvok(Obama). The insidious lipstick-wearing Palin has appeared on the scene and gotten into Tuvok's head. No longer able to discern sufficient lauding and adoration he has inadvertently started the self-destruct sequence.

Will he be able to recover in time?
