Obama appears on Daily Show. And..... meh

POTUS Obama had the funniest, if unintentionally so, comment.

“In fairness, Larry Summers did a heck of a job in trying to figure out how to …”

“You don’t want to use that phrase, dude,” Mr. Stewart interjected.

You are correct that the "usually unavailable audience" would refer to the POTUS as "dude, not even Mr. Dude.

Does it bother you that young liberals have a say in the way your country is run? The reason I ask is that you seem to wanna belittle Obama and the young people who admire him. But maybe I am reading you wrong.

No. Does it bother you that young conservatives and young independents have a say as well? But who says "young people," as in all young people, admire the POTUS? Where did you get that stat? Does it also bother you that POTUS Obama's appearance on Stewart's show may not have impressed the audience? Stewart isn't MSNBC, the POTUS's favorite media outlet.

I loved parts of it...when Stewart couldn't get a word in, and Obama noticed it, Stewart pulled back and said...

"its just I love talking so much" or something to that effect.

Over all, I agree, not as funny as it could have been. Obama seized it as an opportunity to get his views through to a large, usually unavailable audience.

Dude, really? I posted what he said in the OP and you were literally the very next post, and you got the quote wrong? Nice.

I think that was an inside joke. I took it to mean he really did talk with a woman in the audience and that she was a handful. Watch it again and see if you agree.
I took it as "man, don't do this no-namedropping thing".

the POTUS goes on a comedy show......

i dislike this mixture of news and comedy.
Then you must absolutely despise Fox News.

ETA: Oh wait, you meant news and intentional comedy. My mistake.

My take: One time, Craig Ferguson went against his usual programming and sat with just one guest, no audience, for the whole show. That guest was Stephen Fry, and that interview/discussion was great.

This was not that. It was good, and Stewart was careful to keep Tucker Carlson's accusation of softballing guests in his head, but it wasn't great. Stewart asked good questions.

If you believe Stewart didn't toss POTUS Obama soft balls, then you must have truly appreciated Chris Wallace and Bret Baier's POTUS Obama interviews. But POTUS Obama has already designated MSNBC his favorite place for "news," or rather unintentional comedy.

So much of what people try to pass off as news nowadays is laughable anyway. At least Stewart & co are trying to be funny.[/QUOT

and yet he asks serious questions. Stewart is a better journalist than the best Fox has.
.
And was totally at ease when telling the "dude" !!!!???? not to say "heckuva job" about Summers. :)
Now, that's relaxed, when talking to PotUS!

Not really...you just seemed agitated.
