New England Skeptics Get-Together?

Well I guess you could pick up a cheap "pay as you go" phone and buy a phonecard with it.
If you don't plan on chatting chatting chatting.
read the fine print, though, if you do decide to purchase.

Off to the airport.
It does not help that I had a dream that something was wrong with one wing!

Just in case you check this thread from the Boston airport internet kiosk...

Welcome! I hope you had a pleasant flight! See you soon!

Wish I could be there. Just had a tooth pulled an hour or so, though. While there's no pain yet, I think trying to party might not be a smart thing to do for a few days.

Anyway, everybody can have a beer, on me. :D

Ouch Beady. Rest assured, your beer will be drunk. I'll replace it on the cruise.

Well, I just heard about this here get-together (Thanks, Merc!), and there's a good chance I will be heading to Maine (from Maryland, if my avatar didn't give that away) this weekend. Anybody mind if I just happen to drop by? I'd love to meet all y'all! (oooh, I must put away that drawl for the weekend...)

AND, since my daughter will be starting at UNH in the fall, it wouldn't hurt me to have friends in the vicinity...

I am posting this from the hotel where I am staying in Boston. I am exhausted as I have been awake for nearly 24 hours. I just sent 4 hours walking around Boston. Got back to the hotel, went to the bathroom, and then instead of going back to the room I walked into the shower and just stood there for a minute. Also realised I was still wearing the silly inflight socks. I think that means I am very sleepy. Will see some of you tomorrow.

Tanja, I don't know you, but I work in downtown Boston.

If you have any questions about the city, I am usually online all day. PM me or ask here. It's a great city. Do the Freedom Trail if you can.

It's way to early Friday morning but it appears the planets have aligned correctly and I will be on my way this evening. I found a hotel to stay in that's a bit away but a doable drive.

Yes Merc, I will have the boots.:D

Boo

I will be there, but not until saturday morning. :( (last minute thing showed up for tonight--but if anyone needs something there during the day today, I am only half an hour away) And then not for the full day:( because my son flies back from Russia that evening :), but back again Sunday if Tanja needs a ride to Durham.

b-b-b-b-b-b-bootsssssss.......:boxedin:

sorry I was late with the cell phone advice. Pool Boy and I have phones that work in Europe and the US (though not in that dead spot in Dublin NH). Was hard to find them, and only recently have we been able to get them.

We used to always do the SIM cards in Europe! I remember I would buy them at the local photo shop!

But your phone won't work here!

Everyone have fun and let me know how it goes!

Oh Merc, I did a wonderful defense of UNH to a mother who was choosing between UVM and UNH. I did the whole thing about the school treating undergrads like grad students as far as opportunities to DO things goes. I went on and on...and the idiot mother STILL decided on UVM as "they have a better ski program". huh? The weird part is that the kid is a really poor at skiing. But the parents are ski crazy and somehow think they should send their very academic child to the school of THEIR dreams.

UNH rocks people. It shouldn't even be given the nick "state school" because as far as academics go, it isn't...(that wasn't very clear).

Sorry gang, my trip isn't happening. Maybe next time.

I hope you all have a great time and safe travels!

Hey! Since my daughter just decided on UNH, maybe you could send me (PM?) some of that info? Please?
