Muslims respond with "Draw Holocaust Day"

I would really...really...like to know how Holocaust-denial is a non-peaceful act.

Well it's rude and it really pisses some people off.

I guess you can instigate and piss people off and still be considered peaceful...?

Yes. Passive resistance and civil disobedience 'pisses people off' as do women showing their hair or people working on Sunday for some people of extreme religious views. Intentionally 'pissing people off' is one mechanism for change. Note that for, I'm betting, most of the people doing the Draw Mohammad day the goal wasn't just to 'piss people off' but to do so, by mocking an absurd and unjust expectation that some Muslims want to impose on others.

Um.....it is non-peaceful to have offensive views?

"I think black people are lazy and stupid"

is the above statement non-peaceful?

I'm not sure about that.

Drawing Muhammed is not being disrespectful of the entire religion. It's disrespecting the few extremists who find it a crime to represent the prophet in any shape or form.

Do all Muslims find any visual depiction of Muhammed offensive?

I'm sure alot of Muslims got the joke of Muhammed in the bear suit and the U-Haul in South Park, and they probably undesrtood that drawing a stickman and the word "Muhammed" pointing to it isn't really depicting the prophet Muhammed. I'm sure Modern Muslims understand that images are just images.

Or maybe I'm too optimistic. :con2:

Didn't seem too optimistic when talking about a person who's speech was flooded by protesting Muslims and was therefore "lucky" not to be killed.

Are you serious?

You are losing argument with poster Thunder. Denying Holocaust is not unpeaceful. Holocaust happened but we Jews are using it for political force to help sympathy for Jews so we can take over Middle East.

Herzl is hero. He recognise anti-Semites are friends of Jews. They allow us to prevail.

Just a thought here. People may be equally offended by the opposing camps antics, but there is a huge difference that I think is relevant:
1. The Muslims (presumably a minority of Muslims) who are offended by depictions of Muhammad are offended based on a delusional religious belief
2. The people who are offended by holocaust denial are offended because the holocaust actually happened.
I don't think it matters so much who is upsetting who more extremely but rather how reasonable their sense of being offended is. One is based on fantasy and delusion, the other by history revisionism.
And like others have already stated, they will offend and embarrass themselves but nobody is going to get killed and nobody is going to arson the holocaust deniers. If this is pitched as the "Muhammad cartoon drawers vs. The Holocaust Deniers" well, that is just fine by me.

Geni -- you don't get the point.

"You make fun of something I hold sacred, I'll make fun of something you hold sacred" would be, if crude, reasonable.

But these folks ARE NOT making fun of the holocaust. They are SERIOUSLY claiming the holocaust never happened and it's all a Jewish conspiracy.

We Jews try to portray Holocaust never happen for Gays, Roma, Disabled, POW and so on. We indoctrinate West not to be outraged at this.

All the double negatives are confusing me. I want to say yes...

Clear it up for me: Are you saying racism is okay if it's just opinions and not violence?

Sure, that makes sense to YOU, but I'd be willing to bet that Muslims who are offended by depictions of Mohammed believe their offense to be perfectly reasonable. While the difference between the two are glaring to some of us because organized religion is archaic and delusional, I'm sure that fact is lost on those Muslims who only wish to anger the "infidels," and those who actually believe that the holocaust never happened.

Comparing attempted genocide to cartoons of a person is so absurdly ridiculously absurd and ridiculous, it makes my head spin. But if you think about it, there aren't very many ways for extremists and loudmouths to "get revenge" for something like Draw Mohammed Day. Especially when the weaponry in this conflict is frickin facebook. I guess it was either deny the Holocaust or talk about how great 9/11 was.

do you believe hating someone........ and killing someone due to that hatred...are the same thing?

Racial difference are real. People not born equal. You know this.

Of course not. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and killing is killing.

Of course the roots of the problem (ignorance & hate) inevitably begets violence anyway. You seem to be implying that racists can coexist with those they hate without either side resorting to violence. I disagree with that. Correct me if I'm putting words in your mouth.

one can hold racist views and never act them out in a violent or even harrassing way.
