Western values?
Being appalled at the killing of millions of people based on race, religion and sexual orientation is a Western value?
Nope. Being appalled at the killing of millions of non combatants by someone we were fighting in an all out war with is.
Otherwise going by the number of people we've killed based on race and religion over the years it doesn't appear to be any more general.
This doesn't exist in the Orient? Orientals can't be offended by genocide, racism and murder?
I understand there is a certian amount of friction between japan and china over this issue. Going by their support of the Khmer Rouge and North korea though I'm not sure we can expand this into a general principle.
