Except that in his case it's true.

Faux News uses almost every one of his tweets as another takeoff point to spread the lies, disinformation, and confusion they market to his base.
 
If only this story was presented with evidence to justify accepting the claim as true.

I have had a problem all day with the story being reported (on CNN, anyway), always with the caveat that is has not been independently corroborated. It's too big a story to depend on hearsay. The Special Counsel's Office just issued a statement saying that the characterization of that report is not accurate. I wonder how the evening yak shows are going to handle it?

It's interesting to re-read Cohen's sentencing statement and brief in light of the BuzzFeed report. There's this excerpt from Cohen's brief, which seems to flatly declare that the false statements to Congress were "in accordance with Client 1's directives." /1

I can't fathom what Trump is trying to achieve by threatening Cohen's father-in-law. Cohen's not going to retract. If Trump just wants to retaliate against Cohen be revealing something about his father-in-law he'd have done so already. He's clearly threatening a witness, but apparently with a bluff. Or has he seen something on InfoWars? I suppose we'll have to watch to find out.

They say this. The White House says the whole thing is "categorically false".

Ah hell... I can't even be sure of the spelling of "counsel" any more.

The best part of this response is that it answers so many questions and isn't cryptic at all.

In response to the statement tonight from the Special Counsel's spokesman: We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing.
