Klobuchar knew. That was too perfectly worded.

Seems likely.

Dems need to focus like a laser on one thing, and this may be it.

I predict one quote from this whole mess that will live on in posterity is Comey’s “Lordy, I hope there are tapes!” And Cohen allegedly kept lots and lots of tapes. Just one of Trump suborning perjury to Congress could be the keystone upon which the case for impeachment will be built.

Interesting times, and all that!

As if there was really any doubt that Trump was guilty of Obstruction of Justice. He's been a walking, talking, tweeting textbook example of Obstruction of Justice. Lying is Trump's stock and trade. Every other word out of his mouth and his administration's tends to be dishonest and false.

Trump's been trying desperately to distract the American people and derail the process. No question in my mind that Trump is guilty of dozens of counts minimum. No doubt he is guilty of suborning perjury by Cohen and Donald Jr. as both lied to Congress. And Don Jr.'s lie was written on the plane by Sr.

Why do we think those law enforcement officials know what they are talking about?
I wonder how Barr feels about more generalized witness tampering - calling Cohen a "rat," implying that Cohen's father-in-law should be investigated, calling an investigation a "witch hunt" HUNDREDS of times, continuing to slander Comey, Mueller etc. at every opportunity. If he'd done it a couple of times, meh. But he systematically is trying to discredit anyone who speaks against him.

Quite possibly Barr has a higher opinion of Mueller than he does of Trump. I wonder if Trump will try to pull the nomination.

It's not. You're right. It's not perfectly equivalent. It may be possible to falsify certain details of the Steele Dossier. But the failure to prove something as false is not evidence it is true.

It also takes understanding the frame of reference to place it in.

The document doesn't purport to be an accurate analysis of happenings, it is not an endorsement or validation of any of the information it contains. Some informal support or doubt is given in places, but overall it stays rather neutral.

It is "accurate" in the sense that movers-and-shakers in Eastern European spook circles are indeed saying these things or passing along that they hear others saying things.

It takes collating dozens (preferably more like hundreds) of such documents to begin rigorous analysis of what sources are reliable, how much of this is pure background noise, how much of the "noise" is really intentional misinformation, where does the rubber meet the road?

Some of the information gleamed from the Mueller investigation or journalists seem to connect points from the Dossier and so some of that rigorous analysis has happened in their respective black boxes (FBI access to government intel, international media have access to other retired/private analysts, etc).

The way the public takes to certain elements of the document are an interesting example of exactly why you don't take such a document at face value, yet it is simultaneously rich with intel data. Even consistent inaccuracy is data. Convincing a suspected bad source you are totally buying their ******** and watching the real-time results of their response confirm their complicity is a classic spy vs. spy move.

Anyways, point being even false data in the dossier isn't a condemnation of the dossier or the compiler. Proper intelligence discipline say that field reports shouldn't be tampered with or influenced by subjective inclinations (that's for the guys in the air conditioned offices to do :9).

Too bad all those other people questioned by Mueller's team, acquired e-mails, phone conversations, and possible tape recordings confiscated from Cohen's office corroborates what Cohen is claiming.

Trump is desperately clawing for solid ground....

Trump seems to be tweeting back to reports on Fox News. So not only is he listening to the TV, he is talking back to it and expecting it to hear him. If anyone else's grandpa did that in his tatty old lounge chair, that's reasonably clear signs of dementia onset.

"a particularly noteworthy aspect of the story is BuzzFeed News’s claim that, “Attorneys close to the administration helped Cohen prepare his testimony and draft his statement to the Senate panel, the sources said. The sources did not say who the attorneys were or whether they were part of the White House counsel’s staff, and did not present evidence that the lawyers knew the statements would be false.” The combination of the direct presidential instruction to lie and alleged help in preparing the testimony by “attorneys close to the administration” raises important conspiracy questions, as well as the obvious obstruction questions. Presidential authorities do not protect this sort of activity either."

I'm reading this as Trump and those lawyers possibly being involved in the subornation of perjury... that's a conspiracy

I wonder where the perjury trap is now?
