As a digression, I can't help but wonder what it's like to move through the world looking down -- literally -- on almost everyone.

I was 6’2”*. As such, it was rare for me to have to literally look up to anyone. When I did, it always seemed a bit odd.

I guess whether you’re 4’ or 7’, it just becomes your frame of reference - and quite comfortable.

*Those of us lucky enough to reach an advanced age will
have to adjust to getting shorter. I’m easily down an inch, and not far from losing another! So it goes...

It was perfectly legal for Trump to fire James Comey.

Not for the reasons stated.

The fake investigation into collusion

There was probable cause to investigate. Even if they didn't find any evidence in the end it was still a worthwhile investigation. Of course, that's not what happened. They didn't find enough evidence to convict. That's very different.

You're seriously fact-challenged.

How many times is the Steele Dossier cited as a footnote in the final report?

He wouldn't know... and you know the reason why, dont you!

This should get the award for best "Look over there!" paragraph of the year.

Done!

...Now it is interesting that fake news from Germany never seemed to get the same attention as a supposed "disinformation campaign" from Russia. Claas Relotius was a German reporter and wrote for Germany's premiere magazine, Der Spiegel. It was discovered in December 2018 that he had falsified his articles on a grand scale. But this German fake news campaign never got the same attention as Russia. Why? Because he hated Trump supporters and rural America. So make up all the fake news about them you want...

WHATABOUTISM-45.jpg

Why would a story about a German journalist get a lot of coverage in the US? How much does what's written in Der Spiegel influence US elections?

Well, given that interpretation, either you're a colossally confused idiot or a troll. I see that in either case, ridicule is probably the only reasonable response. Moving on.

You are saying that Facebook ads are a threat to our Republic, but having the full weight of America's national security establishment brought against the Trump campaign and Presidency; FISA warrants, spying, interrogations, investigations, entrapment schemes; all launched under completely fraudulent circumstances isn't? This is how you know if you are a police-state liberal.

Now the Mueller indictments of 13 Russians and 3 companies was just another scam to make it appear that there really was some Russia election interference. This Russian "interference" was just a click-bait commercial marketing scheme used to generate advertisement revenue and created online crowds around virtual persona to promote whatever its commercial customers wanted to promote. The internet makes it easy to create an army of sock-puppet accounts to amplify an opinion or promote a product. This is tactic done by many companies, even the US military. This Russian company, Internet Research Agency, created click-bait websites and groups and promoted these through mini Facebook advertisements. These are the Facebook ads that are somehow a threat to our Republic and national security. Some of these sock-puppet accounts engaged in political activities. Some were pro-Hillary, some were anti- Hillary, some were pro-Trump, some were anti-Trump. These sock-puppet accounts did not create or promote fake news.

As lawyer Robert Barnes wrote,

"The only thing frightening about this indictment is the dangerous and dumb precedent it could set: foreign nationals criminally prohibited from public expression in the US during elections unless registered as foreign agents and reporting their expenditures to the FEC."

This forum is call the International Skeptics Forum. There might be posters from countries outside the USA. Most of the posters here are anonymous. Is it legal for some outside the USA to comment on the US elections? If some is commenting from England, Sweden or Brazil must they register as a foreign agent? Is this not foreign meddling if someone outside the USA is commenting?

My, your attempts at false equivalence and making up positions for others are as wonderful as ever..

I provided actual evidence of fake news from Germany. You don't like this because it goes against your manufactured fake news narrative, "Russia attacked our democracy." No one here has yet to provide an example of disinformation from Russia, other than Trump-Russia collusion, which you support.

As long as you assume that, you back yourself into a ridiculous, reality-denying corner and end up with... the kind of bs that you spout.

So all the dirt on the Trump campaign came from US sources? Is Serhiy Leshchenko a US citizen?

This should get the award for best "Look over there!" paragraph of the year.

Yes, it was an example of actual fake news stories, opposed to the Trump-Russia collusion hoax which we've been subjected to for over two years. The people here don't like reality to burst their bubbles.

There was no probable cause to investigate because the evidence was all unverified and there was no underlying crime. But this wasn't an investigation anyway, it was a revenge campaign by Democratic partisans and a coup attempt.

We can't investigate unverified claims?

There was no underlying crime that several people pleaded guilty to and a number of foreign nationals have been charged with?

The tone of this response is practically emblematic of the partisan's last ditch cry of desperation. Pitifull.

Both the Drumpfenführer and his disciples seem to be getting more obnoxious and desperate. There was a period of smugness after the Mueller report "cleared" Trump, but now they seem to be back in Sky is Falling mode for some reason.

From recent ABC Trump interview.

In an interview on ABC, host George Stephanopoulos noted that the special counsel's report said that Trump had ordered his White House counsel to fire Robert Mueller.

"Number one, I was never going to fire Mueller," Trump insisted. "I never suggested firing Mueller."

"That's not what [the special counsel] says," the ABC host interrupted.

"I don't care what he says," Trump snapped.

"Why would [the White House counsel] lie under oath?" Stephanopoulos wondered.

"Because he wanted to make himself look like a good person," Trump argued. "Number one, I didn't. He wasn't fired. But more importantly, Article II [of the Constitution] allows me to do whatever I want. Article II would have allowed me to fire him."

"I wasn't going to fire him," the president added. "You know why? Because I watched Richard Nixon go around firing people and that didn't work out too well."

Trump thinks the Constitution allows the President can do whatever he wants.

A) Where oh where in Title 18 of the US Code does it say you need probable cause to open an investigation? Chapter and verse please.

B) If there was no underlying crime, why were there so many indictments, persecutions, guilty pleas and convictions?

C) Where does Mueller ever say there was no underlying crime?

There was no probable cause to investigate because the evidence was all unverified

You have to investigate in order to verify evidence. You've just nullified every investigation in the history of man, just do defend Trump. See, that's what happens when you argue based on political ideology rather than on the merits of the facts.

there was no underlying crime.

Accepting things of value from foreign governments to benefit an election campaign in the US is a crime.

But this wasn't an investigation anyway, it was a revenge campaign by Democratic partisans and a coup attempt.

Unlikely, as all the people involved were Republicans.

You really don't know squat about this topic, do you?

Trump tweets

When will the Fake News Media start asking Democrats if they are OK with the hiring of Christopher Steele, a foreign agent, paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, to dig up “dirt” and write a phony Dossier against the Presidential Candidate of the opposing party.........

......If Republicans ever did that to the Democrats, there would be all hell to pay. It would be a scandal like no other!
