More Truther Legaltainment!

Well, it seems that he's not in a commitment program. I just looked at the case files, and it appears that he just hasn't been transferred to the custody of the DOC yet.

Here's his sentence.

3 years Prison with 53 days credit for time served.
After that, 12 years of Sex Offender probation.
10pm to 6am curfew

No contact with victim or victim's family.
No contact with minor children w/o adult supervision.

And found to be a sexual offender, and as such, will have to register for the rest of his life.

WRT: Manny's claim that this was a setup, why did he plea no contest?
Why wouldn't he take this to trial?

He was set for a jury trial in May. IIRC he changed his plea to guilty a day or two before it, thus it was cancelled. Happens a lot with defendants. As I understand it, they get a lighter sentence if they admit what's proven.

I'm not clear on this. Some of it appears to be weird internal Truther stuff. Phil Jayhan is the inventor of the vicsim interpretation of 9/11. He is tight with the We Are Chane groups, especially New York City. Manny says he was a witness to the attacks that Phil says were faked. Manny must be a liar, so Phil was not surprised when he heard that Manny is also a sex criminal.

This all points to a weird parallel with the idea of patriotism in America. Phil may be a disinfo agent to the JREF Truthers, but to WAC, and I suspect most young Truthers, he is a patriot willing to push the envelope of 9/11 Truth as far as it can go. He's literally willing to think the unthinkable. So when Phil suggests that Manny is a scumbag liar, even if you don't accept vicsims, you have to entertain Phil's judgements because he's the most hard-core Truther there is.

Or something like that.
 
I would like to see the documents outlining Badillo's conviction(s) and sentence.

If he posts here (depending on what he says, doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the box) hes just reinforcing the latent inferences this thread is creating.

If he did post here, it would not belong in this subforum and should be moved elsewhere, as this thread has basicaly nothing to do with 9/11.

I could start a similar thread to this in the religion section about the individual case details of a local vicar I knew whos facing paedophilia charges.
Or as he owned a small business maybe an anti capitalist themed thread in the business section.
I think he beleived in homeopathy too so could even start a thread in the science section about what sort of people believe in homeopathy.

I have heard it from a reliable source that the offense involved someone close to the defendant; i.e., related. This is why the news coverage of the case has been nil; because of a desire to protect the victim's identity.

That seems believable. Yes, there has been zero press coverage.
 
The only way that I know of to access the files for Manny's conviction, is through the PBC clerk of courts via a FOIA request. Which, if it's anything like my county, could be pretty pricy, unless you specify just the charge sheet narrative, and the sentencing scoresheet.

Two pages, at $.15 and about an hours worth of research could be around $25 dollars. And, it will be heavily redacted, as protecting the victim's identity is top priority.

I don't know if there's a way to view it online like some other court documents.

Maybe a phone call to them might be in order. I'll give them a ring some time this week and let you all know.

ETA: As of today, he has not been moved to the Fl. DOC's custody yet.

How did you get this information, tri?
 
When you go to the PBC clerk of courts website, and view his most recent case which is case # 50-2011-CF006309-AXXX-MB on page two after you do the search, click on the plus sign on the left of the court case number.

Once you get there, it slows down really bad. Not sure why either.

Under the basics of the case, you'll see a tab that says "Sentences". Click on that and it will show the current sentence for that case.
