Montel Williams responds

I don't have TV. Actually, I have two TVs, but neither is hooked up to anything that can get a TV signal. Oddly, I don't miss TV much. For a long while I had two addresses and at one I had 500 channels of digital cable and a DVR and did find many nice things to watch. To duplicate that here would cost mega-$$, and there is nothing on the cheaper 100 channel, let alone the 50 channel and 12 channel packages that I care to watch.
 
AB - Thanks for the insight/comments. You are right, if Montel were a NS'er in some fashion I suppose they would play that up for all its worth; as they (Montel and SB) play up each other at various apperances (as you note).

You mean that radio show where he once again said that crap about her not being a psychic but having an inordinate amount of intuition?

I think that's a very good point. Sylvia says she's psychic and doesn't bring 'intuition' into it. Montel has said at least twice that he doesn't believe in psychics but in Sylvia's intuition. It seems Sylvia and Montel disagree with each other but no one is noticing.
 
To me it also begs a question. If Montel is so certain that Sylvia only has great "intuition," then how can he believe that "intuition" can cause her to solve missing person cases and murders? I would think that would fall squarely into the "psychic" catagory. :confused:

Yes, but they both believe in ratings and publicity. Greed can overcome all differences.

It's just game-playing. Montel, Sylvia, and the believers all have to play their roles in a silly farce. They've all got to act like Sylvia sees all and knows all.

Sylvia has admitted that she's not 100% accurate, but she will never give a reading where she says something like, "I'm 85% sure that your father on the other side want to tell you that everything's OK." Or "I'm 85% sure your missing child is dead." That wouldn't fit her role. She must also not say, "I was wrong when I said your child was shot" for the same reason.

Part of this is a kind of group-think, where the questions and doubts an individual has must not be expressed. The obvious challenges of outsiders must be rejected outright--not even considered. (As others have mentioned, it's telling that such criticism was even acknowledged on the show, but they'll still never actually address it.)

At least three times. An Ohio reporter once asked him about Sylvia for a an article and he said the same thing.

Yeah, I gotta wonder if she knows that he officially thinks so.

She doesn't care. She gets an infomercial every week courtesy of Montel Williams, and she gets paid for it! Why on earth would she give a damn if Montel believes that she's "psychic" or just has "intuition?" As long as he's fawning over her, she's raking in the money.
 
Didn't Montel recently say something along the lines of "when we call each other it is for a How are you? and not What can you do for me?"

I'll bet.
