Medium finds missing woman in UK river

The photo was taken by an independent motorist who happened to be passing by, who stopped to watch.

Rothwell and his friend did indeed spot the body, rang up the police and they obviously came along promptly to have a look.

The motorist was a press photographer, and a friend of mine ,who came across the scene.

Edit to add. Most bodies are found by members of public the majority of time in cases like these.

Is there any evidence that man was Rothwell? Who was the woman; does she confirm his claim? Do the police confirm his claim?

Definitely him. Like him or hate him. I believe his partner is actually transgender (not a 'woman' per se [unless, of course, she identified as such]).

That may be true but what are the odds of a random psychic/medium being the person to find it, when literally thousands have passed the same area, including hundreds of police, helicopters, divers and an expert rescuer with his £55K sonar machine.

P4 Mr Rothwell already practises as a spiritualist church medium. He is 33, a self-described active member of the LGBT community and lives in Oldham, Gtr Manchester (about 50 miles away from the site). He came forward because people recognised him so he put out a statement confirming it. You can see from the photos it is the same guy. He has been inundated with people wanting 'bookings' but has declined all of them. AFAIAA he hasn't made money out of it. So:

• Jason Rothwell is a typical British eccentric and a busybody.
• He is a practising medium who claims his 'gift' brought him to the spot.
• He hasn't cost the taxpayer a single penny from his activity of locating the body.

Einstein once said that genius is 1% talent and 99% perspiration. As with any gift, musical, literary, mathematical, artistic, scientific, you'll find that the 'gifted' have put in many many hours of practice, study or work into their great talent, which to others seems to come out of the blue and with the greatest of ease.

Likewise, Mr. Rothwell has likely been heavily immersed in his occultist arts to the point of obsession. This obsession gave him the skills and impetus to travel to the area with a view of 'helping the search' by using what he terms his skills as a spiritualist medium. Thus, he likely had his eyes peeled at every millimetre of the river along that particular path in his zeal. With the fortuity of the high tide causing the body to rise up freed from the dead tree trunk that had held it down, his perspicacity meant he happened to be in the right spot at the right time.

It is no great mystery.

This guy didn't discover the body because he has any sort of supernatural powers. And that's because... he doesn't have any sort of supernatural powers. End of.

He discovered the body because he was searching for it, and happened upon it. I wouldn't be surprised if at least several other fraudulent (or mentally ill) "psychics" hadn't also travelled up to that area trusting their "powers" to guide them to her body.
