This is not about race. It's about what happens when a group of people is deliberately held outside of the normal requirements of working for a living and dealing with other people by a rogue political party which wants them as a kept voting block.

Any evidence of this? What is a "rogue" political party?

Of course, when the group in question IS visually distinct from the surrounding populace, then other kinds of pathologies and an us vs. them mindset should be expected to set in, particularly when a rogue government ENCOURAGES such developments.

WHy, the republicans would never start making watermelon jokes, Obama Bucks jokes, Obamaphones jokes, calling Obama the "Affirmative Action President", shots of Obama shining Palin's shoes, claiming that Obama was selling the "crack cocaine of dependency", demanding to see his birth certificate, or stating that black kids are satisfied with food stamps, taking other people's money, or "on the democrat plantation". Why do black kids need to get bused to white schools? I mean that irks me so much about black people.

As long as you think of them as "black people" and not just "people" you're going to have a irk. But as for busing, it was often the only time people like me would come into contact with people of other races. The first six years of school was almost exclusively "white". The "other" was a Catholic kid.

We rely so heavily on other people to make our lives bearable. Some of the greatest black minds came from those separate institutions. I'm not advocating for separation, but I am arguing that blacks need to become more self-reliant and industrious. We need to establish our own foothold in the American economy and provide ourselves greater employment opportunities. It sickens me that blacks are so reliant on the government and the charity of a few reformed liberal whites. Most of our jobs are public sector or low wage jobs. Very few of our jobs are located in future or emerging fields.

At the end of the day, that's part of the point.

The supposed idea is that "bussing" or some such hurt the cause of integration.

I grew up in Boston in the 80s. I have cousins, a bit younger than me, that actually were bussed into white neighborhoods. And they were met by adults, hurling slurs and rocks at children, threatening to set them on fire, and the like.

But, in our neighborhood? The white kids were welcome (to a point, of course. They got into fights as most kids do, but no adult threatened to flip their bus and set it on fire).

The entire idea that *bussing* hurt integration is, of course, absurd. It was actually *white supremacy* that hurt the cause of integration.

You mean with all the post-civil war reconstruction turning into Jim Crow, and all of the race riots that happened until 1992? We have a short memory don't we? Again, poor people with nothing to lose they do crazy ****. That's just historical precedent. No nation is immune from this fact. As the numbers of poor people increase, so too will the amount of tribal violence.
